I had bee looking for new garage doors for a while and obtained quotes from a number of suppliers suggested by BARK.

I settled on Garage Doors and Automation after speaking to Will, he responded to my enquiry on a Sunday, provided all the information I needed and gave a few recommendations.

A few days ago I paid the deposit and as stated about 4 weeks later the doors were delivered and installed, for both doors it took around 5 hours, the two chaps sent did a great job and left no mess. I am 100% pleased with these doors, very quiet and simple to operate - I opted not to have Safety Edge as this is an added complication. I’m happy to hold the button and watch for any issues so preventing any issues, also removes a possible failure.

Will arrived as agreed, spot on time,
after checking the existing up & over door, side tracks, wheels,& side arms,
He then eased the top of the door inwards, he then turned to me & said
sorry it will not work, explains that the door operates perfectly when opened from the outside using the handle at the bottom of the door but when pulled internally from the top, the door catches the mechanism
Being a practical man after Will left
I tried to prove him wrong, after a couple of hours & cutting lumps out of both sides of the door I realised WILL did know what he was talking about.

My service request was promptly dealt with, but the date was dependent on the availability of parts which might have been required. In the event, no parts were required and it seemed that my problem was caused by all the plastic clips on the drive shaft being open - their spring-loaded hinges having stuck in the open state, and the door travel limit switches having somehow lost their settings. Resetting the limit switches and lubricating the clip hinges fixed the problem. The work was completed within the first hour of the call-out and no parts were needed. I'm a happy customer. More...
