I have an intact 17 month old male Labrador who was pulling like a train on lead and had been allowed to rule the roost at home with no appreciation of personal space. He went to Steve on May 13th for three weeks. Dexter was collected from home and I received a WhatsApp video of him out on a walk as soon as Steve reached his house. Dexter was crated for the first time whilst at Steve's house. I received daily videos of his training. Videos to show how to correct bad behaviour, how to reward good behaviour etc. Steve literally talks and walks you through everything!. On top of Dexters training, I moved home so he has also came home to a new house. He has learnt to listen and settle in the home. He doesn't get up on the sofa, he doesn't jump up at people, he is now crated at night and when unsupervised and he will actually go in the crate when asked. While Dex was with Steve, he was walked alongside a GSD, a boxer and a Rottie. Four large dogs all in one man's hand! He played off lead with them all, it was wonderful to see. His training has given me the confidence to let him live his best life. The training continues at home and I will send him for refresher courses once a year or so just so he can see Steve and Tris who he looks for when I'm watching videos back!. More...

Taz stayed with Steve, head trainer for 3 weeks on the board and train programme. Taz wasn't just pulling the lead, he would be on hind legs barking and lunging to anyone or anything. Wouldn't be a worry if I had a small dog but my boy is 55kg. I'd taken to only going out with him at around 2am. Results of this programme second to none. Taz walks with me, doesn't pull and is easily distracted by me if anyone gets close. Totally ignores anyone walking in front of me or over the road. No longer spots a person at 100 yards and goes crazy. I cannot recommend and thank this company enough. With daily video updates and all questions answered amazing service. More than anything I now have a much happier dog. More...

Four Paws are amazing! Karen was training my 4 year old King Charles Cavalier to be less anxious, heel walk and recall and she did an amazing job. I’m so happy we used Four Paws for the 3 week training! I almost never leave reviews but I am so happy with the training I thought it was only fair to leave a review praising Karen (and the team)! We cannot recommend Four Paws Training enough. We sent out 2yr old rescue dog Campo who was reactive to nearly everything, people, cars and other dogs. He went to Steve & Tristan who have worked their magic on him & both worked so hard in the four weeks they had him, on those issues. We got daily videos of him which reassured us that he was happy with them & also means we can look back at them for tips on how to continue the training now we have him home. The communication from the team, has been excellent from the initial phone call with Tracy through to having Campo home. We were always made fully aware of what was happening and his progress. 5* review is not enough for this company and everyone in it. Thank you again. More...

Our puppy was nervous off everyone and everything and barked and backed away, including anyone coming in to our home. After 3 weeks residential training, she is a different dog.
She doesn’t bark at anyone or anything she walks past. We can have visitors into our home and she will great them and want atttention. She is still nervous of some people, but we are working through it. We know how to correct her if she becomes nervous and with reassurance I am sure she will become a happy and confident dog.
Whilst she was away, we received daily videos of her trying to help us understand how to move forward with her. We also have continued support - we can send videos to get advice. We will use Four Paws again when we go away, so that they can continue her training as she gets older.

We are absolutely delighted with the service we received from Steve and the team.
We sent them our 6 month old XL Titch, who was very fearful and anxious of the world around her.
Steve and his team have worked miracles. We received daily updates on her progress and tips for us to follow on her return. I walked Titch today following her training and using the tips we have received and the improvement was amazing.
Thank you Steve!!
We will continue with her training and are looking forward to sending her back to continue her training in May.

Our puppy Charlie went for two weeks on-board training for puppies to Christine. We have been updated daily about her progress and all our question have always been answered. We noticed huge difference after the training, she is much more confident around other dogs and crowds what was very important to us and she mastered basic obedience. It's very easy to follow on the training now, because Christine explained to us how we should continue in the training. Great service! More...

Steve has been crucial in the early stages of my cocker spaniel life, he’s helped me with recall and general behaviour. He’s also had him for a week more recently, where he’s worked on some of the things that I was struggling with, mainly that my dog is obsessed with birds. Steve took him out where there were loads of birds and videoed him teaching how to keep Control and his recall has just been brilliant since. Such a lovely man as well, I trusted him straightaway with my little bundle of fur! I would thoroughly recommend Steve to any dog owner! Definitely five stars from me! More...

We were so lucky to have Bea train our babies for 3 weeks. Noodle is a puppy and needed all her basic training. Parker is 5 years old and had always struggled with him leash pulling and going crazy for squirrels.
From the first time Bea met our pups it was so obvious how much she loves dogs and was amazingly professional about what we wanted from training and how we could improve our dog’s behaviour and lifestyle.
Bea is an incredibly strong trainer and extremely reliable. After 3 weeks, the results were amazing. Parker was heal walking with us and was no longer pulling the lead, and Noodle had good basic commands in place. Both were consistently happy to be recalled.
Our babies love her to bits and really enjoyed staying with her

We sent our German shepherd X Spanish sheepdog to board and train with four paws and training. Our dog was a very reactive anxious dog, stubborn, difficult to get under control during walks and in house.
Although our training continues in house, Steve gave us the teaching of how to handle our dog. We were surprised to see how Steve managed to get him under control in a week and thought we would never see him like that. We were provided with advice and the tools needed to do this. We were at a point of feeling hopeless and we’re given hope by them as we saw very good videos of how we can achieve this ,as a clear difference was noticed. I commend Paul for the service provided, as he was quick to address concerns we had and put a plan in place straight away. Rocky had gone to another trainer at four paws before Steve and we acknowledge his work with our dog which helped on walks, but Steve was able to break this down for us and directly teach and correct us in ways which was clear to understand.
Steve’s communication has been key to our continued training at home now that our dog back home. He is quick to answer questions.
I thank you for giving us the opportunity to have hope with our dog through the tough days and nights we’ve had.

I can not thank enough the Four Paws team, especially Steve and Tristan, for the great job that has been done during the two weeks of training. The entire process, from booking in our 5-month-old puppy to the handover, has been completed professionally, and it’s been a pleasure. I have had no stress about anything since the moment Steve picked up Bruno. I have put all my trust in them and enjoyed the video’s daily updates. Steve and Tristan explained clearly the approach, what works or doesn’t and how to implement it. I can see a significant improvement in Bruno’s behaviour and his confidence. I would also like to bring my appreciation to Paul and Tracy for their patience and support. Four Paws team highly recommend! More...

I had an absolutely terrible experience with Four Paws Walking and Training Ltd can hardly find words to express the immense frustration and despair I feel regarding my horrendous experience, but I feel it is my responsibility to share the numerous grievances I have with this company.
My husband and I have sent our dog Sirius for 4 weeks of training to work on his anxiety and reactivity. On the third day of the training, we were informed that Sirius had a broken leg and we took him back from Four Paws. Sirius had to undergo medical operations, including the insertion of a metal plate and 9 screws in his leg (as he had multiple fractures on his right back leg) and would require us to keep him in intensive post-surgery care and he's now confined to immobility for at least 8 weeks, and it breaks my heart to see him wrestle with heightened anxiety and even needing depression medication to cope with his nightmarish new environment
Refund and Insurance Issues:
After an incident involving Sirius, we reached out to them for their insurance details to cover his medical bills. To our dismay, they informed us that their insurance does not cover the pets under their care. Despite their company website claiming insurance coverage, it's evident that they don't have insurance for the pets under their care and they repeatedly failed to provide us with their insurance details despite multiple requests. They assured us they had processed a refund of £2,500, which was the one-month training cost fee, and promised to reimburse Sirius' medical bills totaling £7,500. Despite over two weeks passing since this communication, we have received neither the promised refund for the month-long training (which Sirius only attended for 2.5 days) nor any assistance with the medical bills. Four Paws repeatedly fails to uphold their commitments, including timely payments for Sirius' training fee refund, essentially withholding our own money. Their consistent postponements and excuses are beyond frustrating. This company's lack of accountability is deeply disappointing.
This entire ordeal has inflicted significant emotional stress and financial hardship on us. We've had to shoulder the burden of both Sirius' training fee and substantial veterinary expenses, which could have been avoided if Four Paws Walking and Training Ltd. had accepted responsibility for their actions. At this point, we are striving to get our lives back on track and offer the best possible support to Sirius. Unfortunately, due to Four Paws' complete lack of cooperation, we've also had to invest a considerable amount of time consulting with solicitors and pursuing legal action against Four Paws to recoup both the training fee and Sirius' medical bills. This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.
The incident details and communication issues:
What's truly distressing is how Four Paws mishandled the entire situation. The incident occurred on the third day of Sirius's four-week training program with Four Paws, specifically on October 17, 2023, around 8 PM. They failed to inform us about Sirius' suffering promptly. Roughly half an hour after the incident, we had a conversation with Steve, the head trainer, via WhatsApp. He didn’t disclose any information about the incident but instead sent us a picture of CBD oil, mentioning his intention to try it on Sirius for his anxiety. At that time, we were not made aware of the incident or the severity of Sirius' pain and it was our understanding that Steve was attempting to provide some form of relief to our dog. It wasn't until the next day that we received a call from Steve, informing us that Sirius had fallen out of the van and his leg was swollen and swinging. This delay in communication and lack of transparency were absolutely inexcusable. At that time, we were deeply concerned about Sirius, but Four Paws' facility was located 3.5 hours away by car, and we had to wait for the vet's assessment. During that period, Steve sent us a video of Sirius, which made it abundantly clear that something was seriously wrong with our dog. Anyone watching the video could discern the distress in Sirius's body language. He appeared excessively frightened, with his tail tucked between his legs, which is not how he usually is. This video only further underscored the severity of the situation and our mounting concerns for Sirius's well-being.
Even during this stressful time, when our primary concern was Sirius's well-being, Four Paws showed a shocking lack of empathy and professionalism. Tracy, director of Four Paws asked if they could share Sirius' training video on social media while we were dealing with his injury. It showed that they didn't have their priorities in the right place.
Furthermore, the initial vet visit showed that Sirius's leg was fractured and he had more than 16 hours of pain since Steve thought giving him CBD oil was enough rather than taking him to emergency vet services. We had to take time off work and make a total 8-hour journey to Yorkshire to get Sirius. We then brought him to a 24-hour veterinary care facility until surgery. Our regular vet advised us that, given the severity of the fracture as seen in the x-rays, Sirius needed constant monitoring and strong pain relief.
The following day, we located a specialist surgeon in Basildon to perform the necessary surgery. We left Sirius at Southfields Vet Hospital in Basildon for the procedure. Throughout this entire process, we covered all the medical expenses, including the costs incurred from the initial vet visit with Steve.
When we inquired about Four Paws' insurance details, based on their own website's claim of being insured, we were stunned to learn that their insurance didn't actually cover situations like the one we faced.
In the end, instead of getting the support and assistance we rightfully deserved as paying customers, we encountered unprofessional behavior, a lack of accountability, and a complete disregard for our beloved pet's well-being. Four Paws Walking and Training Ltd. has been an absolute nightmare.

Hi Belma, of course we are sorry regarding Sirius's unfortunate accident, We informed you straight away and Steve took Sirius to the vets for a check up that revealed the injury, we then kept you updated as events unfolded. I would like to point out that we have offered to cover the medical costs for the operation, xrays, medication and follow up appointments, and are waiting on the results of the 8 week check up to get a final account and then payment will be made. We hope Sirius makes a speedy recovery and await your final accounts from the vets so we can settle this matter.

Absolutely life changing, I can easily say this was the best money I have ever spent, Steve had our 14 week old toy poodle called Sage for two weeks, and he did a phenomenal job.
My partner and I were really struggling with knowing what to do, how to correct behaviour and we weren’t able to put the full work in consistently to get the most out of Sage.
Don’t get me wrong, sending Sage away was really hard, BUT as soon as you meet Steve you know she’s in good hands, Steve was in contact daily & it was clear she LOVED it! We received progress and instructional videos every day and in every video sent she was visibly so happy and having fun.
She came back to us with a completely new found level of respect and far more chilled demeanour, she is now SO obedient, she is happier, we’re happier, she’s lovely to be around. Everyone we bump into comments on how relaxed she is and how well trained she is already.
We will be using the incredibly solid foundation Steve has given us and we will work hard to maintain and reinforce his work with her.
The on going support is so good! Steve is so responsive and happy to help! Which is a game changer. I honestly couldn’t recommend more.
Thee best service, we cannot be more thankful. We can now all have a good life together. Thank you Steve, Paul and Tracy!

Our 4 year-old Australian Labradoodle Finn boarded with Four Paws for 10 days and we couldn't have been happier! He stayed with the most loving family who showered him with love and affection at all times, took him for lovely long walks and played his favourites games. We honestly didn't think he would want to come back home to us :). Everything with Four Paws was five stars. We got plentiful, regular updates on his daily goings and loads of photos and videos. Finn has boarded in several different places before and this was hands down the best place he has ever stayed in. I’ve worked with Paul and Bea in three separate occasions for my two puppies, and couldn’t have been happier with the results and peace of mind that I got from their training and board/stay programs.
First the puppies training for my Australian Shepherd and Corgi, Bea did a great job with both and both pups had no trouble at all keeping up routines after their training at home.
I’ve just been out of the country for a little over a month, and Paul was able to take care of my corgi splendidly well. Photos and videos were given throughout the week, letting me know what was going on and I can happily report Caramel thoroughly enjoyed her holiday break!
Extension was also given with no trouble at all as my trip took a bit longer than expected. They were super accommodating and very easy to work with.
Will be back 10/10!

Dog Training
John at four paws has been amazing. I was incredibly nervous about sending my 1 year old male Doberman away for 2 weeks.
Nothing phases John he is extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy. John and my dog clearly formed a bond and he had a blast.
We had daily videos and all our questions were answered. The services was professional and thorough.
We are really happy with Lakota's progress on lead walking, dog reactivity and recall.
Thank you again

Been 3 weeks since my Loki has been home, the videos was great and I understood what I had to do, and I stuck to it , I even had my brother book time of work but Loki still bit him when he was stroking the other dog but sadly the training didn’t stick , I’ve had to call in a animal behaviourist and Loki will be put on medication due to his biting and aggression and attacking other dogs again , it stopped but it’s gotten worse after 3 days he was home.
now we are back at square one.
He was soo good with Steve and listened but he has not listened now.
Loki had never a problem against me , and he latched onto me and dragged me to the floor while shaking his head and sadly refused to let go.
So not only i feel like I’ve spent thousands for this training and for it to not stick but I’ve now had to pay out more money for a behaviourist.
Very upset for very little outcome.
This is a sad review , as my previous one I thought the trainer had worked a miracle but sadly with due time it has not.

What a service.
Our 18 month German Shepherd was constantly anxious, and her social integration was an issue, with other dogs, people and in noisy areas.
Four Paws Trainer Steve Lunn adopted Suki for 2 weeks, and the results were amazing. The advice in the daily videos
has been outstanding, educating us whilst guiding our beautiful Suki to a more balanced, happier life.

Paul and Bea were very helpful in the organisation and taking care of summer. They’ve really helped in coaching summer to be more social and helping me handle situations and how to carry on training. Overall great experience and I would highly recommend More...

Rebecca
I’m so pleased we sent our Freda to Four Paws, and trained with Steve.
Shes an anxious pup and there were some negative behaviours, such as snapping at strangers and other dogs and lots of reactive barking in the house.
She also got over excited in the park, with balls being really possessive and pulling/reactive when on the lead.
She stayed for the two week training plan and has come back so different. The barking is significantly reduced, she is amazing on the lead and her reactions and growling, snapping are far reduced. Steve left us with really specific instructions to make sure we implement the same controls in our home and we are much more relaxed with her in situations as we know what to do to calm her.
Steve was amazing, he clearly bonded with Freda and she loved him, she always looks so happy in the videos. The communication was amazing, we received videos every singe day letting us see how well she was developing and how much she was enjoying herself. It became the highlight of our days! We highly recommend, we wish we’d done it much sooner when she was a young pup! THANKS SO MUCH 😊🐶
