Nathan has been an absolute pleasure to be taught by. Perfect blend of theory & practical understanding. His level of professionalism/skill has been evident from day 1 & wouldn’t have progressed how I have without him. Very appreciative!

I contacted Nathan a couple of months ago which has absolutely flown by and in that time I have gone from knowing extremely little to being able to play a couple of songs, independently move my fingers, know a lot of chords and gained confidence in being able to have fun whilst not fearing getting chords and strumming wrong.

Nathans approach to teaching is extremely unique and he doesn't just teach something for the sake of it. Everything is structured with a bigger picture view over the whole process of teaching and learning.

Within a couple of weeks I was doing things I certainly didn't feel I would be able to after such little time but Nathan understands music, process, approach and people so well that he gets the learning material just right.

Could not recommend higher.

Firstly I hope there’s enough space here to write all I need to about Nathan.. Nathan was the first to reply on Bark and I have to say that being ever sceptical about these things I decided to engage with him to see how he could help an old gut like me to finally be able to fulfil a lifetimes ambition of wanting to play the guitar. Something I’d attempted once before but found so frustrating. I asked Nathan one question; how long will it take to learn and he guaranteed me around 3 months… and with hand on heart and with sincerity I can say with confidence that he is nothing short of amazing! He is patient and works at your pace and always knows when to edge you forward. I cannot believe that from twanging really awful notes and chords that I hadn’t even heard of I am now so much more educated on scales notes chords and patterns of strumming. Nathan’s given me immense confidence to pick up my guitar and just sit and strum some of my favourite old school tunes.. absolutely no looking back for me now as this have allowed me to believe that you can actually achieve your wishes with someone like Nathan by your side supporting and encouraging you all the way..

Would i recommend him? Would do you think! 100% worth every Penny I’ve spent with him so far and am still continuing to do so until I’m ready to let go.. all in good time though.. amazing teacher cannot recommended enough.

Just started lessons with Nathan - enjoying them immensely and finally on a journey to learn the guitar!

I have played guitar for a long time, knew that I had some real gaps in my knowledge. I could play pre-scribed solos, but truly never understood the 'why'. 'Why' choose that lead / chords, 'why' does it work together.

Like most players I never wanted to spend a tonne of time with my head buried in books, what Nathan has done is remarkable, he takes the time and with his practical approach to learning the instrument, has given me so much of that knowledge - deciphering the theory without blinding you with the peripheral knowledge. Nathan Smith has been teaching me to play the guitar for several months now. I had never played guitar before so I started from level zero with him. So pleased I found him to teach me. Every lesson is innovative and fun. He is very patient, explains everything clearly including the theory behind each new technique or piece. I am not one to leave reviews, good or bad. However, in this instance, it would be reprehensible not to write about Nathans's adeptness as a guitar trainer. I'm 54 years old, and I have tried to learn the guitar numerous times throughout my life, and unfortunately, I have failed miserably and perpetually in the first few lessons on every occasion.

Nathan has been playing the guitar for circa 30 years and has formulated the most endearing and fun way of teaching guitar. He's a relaxed, engaging, highly professional teacher who makes you feel good and positive even if you don't know how to hold a guitar.

Time flies by during the class, and I feel like a better guitarist after each lesson concludes. Nathan inspires me to practice as much as possible, and I am already playing simple but cool-sounding tunes after only a few lessons.

We all know people who are good in their chosen professions, and on rare occasions, we meet someone who is exceptional and at the top of their field.

Nathan is one of those people. He has the rare combination of being gifted and highly skilled yet unbelievably humble, patient and relaxed.

Nathan's teaching style is calm and informative, supporting you through each step with patience and praise. The method used, mixing theory, techniques and play are balanced. I have just completed my 6th lesson of 12 under Nathan's tuition and found the lessons a very rewarding experience and most enjoyable. The best acoustic guitar teacher I have had. Great empathy and huge knowledge of theory, explained clearly.
