What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about my job is the opportunity to work with a range of clients across various industry sectors. Each day brings something new, and I genuinely enjoy the variety that keeps my work exciting and engaging. The saying "every day is a school day" really resonates with me; I'm constantly learning.
It's important to me to ensure that my clients receive real value for their investment. I take pride in being efficient and dedicated, always striving to exceed expectations and make a positive impact. I've built some great relationships with my clients over the years. Almost all of my business has come from referrals from existing customers - that's something I'm really proud of, it reassures me that I'm doing a great job for them. But I thought I'd try Bark to reach out and connect with some new clients through a different channel.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My inspiration to start my own business came after I had my children. When I returned to work after having my daughter I worked part-time, then my son arrived a couple of years later. Unfortunately, when I went back to work after that maternity leave, my company wanted me to switch back to full-time, which just wasn't what I was looking for. So, I made the difficult decision to take the redundancy package.
I looked at various options, including starting a franchise and retraining, but with my degree in Marketing, I knew I wanted to stay within that realm. So I decided to focus solely on supporting clients with social media management.
Starting my own business has given me the flexibility to work around my young family, which was great particularly seeing them through primary school. I'm proud of what I've achieved over the last ten years, and I’m glad I took the path I did. I'm not sure I have the work-life balance completely right, but I do really enjoy what I do.

Clients should choose me because I bring over ten years of experience running my own business, which has equipped me with valuable insights across various industry sectors. I take the initiative to conduct my own research to stay updated with sector news and trends, ensuring that I provide relevant and effective solutions. I'm friendly, approachable, and easy to work with—I don't require hand-holding and can confidently work independently.
On a personal level, I'm friendly and easy to get along with. I enjoy working independently—I don't need hand-holding and can confidently manage projects on my own. I'm also a wife and a mum to two children, aged 15 and 12, and I enjoy unwinding with a glass of wine and a good Netflix series.
My aim is to make my clients' lives easier by taking some of the burden off their shoulders, allowing them to focus on what they do best while I handle the details.

Yes, I work from home, and everything is done remotely. I'm happy to meet clients in person if the geographic area allows, but most of my communication occurs via Zoom or Teams calls. I primarily work independently, allowing clients to be as involved as they wish or to let me manage everything seamlessly.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
This is not really applicable, I work remotely. Most of my contact with clients is over the phone, or via Zoom/Teams.
