What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
It’s less about fancy cameras and more about catching a moment — the kind that feels real, not forced. Good lighting helps (a lot), but so does knowing how to make someone feel confident, relaxed, and not like they’re posing for a school photo.
I always say: it’s part technical, part timing… and part convincing people they don’t look weird when they smile. A great photo tells a story — whether it’s moody, powerful, or just shows someone looking their absolute best without them even trying.
Also, angles. Angles are everything.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
First off — what are we making, and why does it matter?
I’ll usually ask things like:
Who’s the target audience?
What vibe are we going for? (Slick? Bold? Fun? Mysterious?)
Where will the content live — social media, website, internal use?
Any references or styles you love (or hate)?
Deadline — are we talking calm stroll or last-minute sprint?
The goal is to understand your vision without drowning you in creative jargon.
What do you love most about your job?
Getting to turn ideas into visuals that actually make people feel something. One day I’m filming a business leader making bold statements, the next I’m photographing a team who can’t stop laughing during headshots.
Plus, I get to call "talking about lighting setups and lens choices" my job — and I’ve got a studio full of gear that makes me feel like a kid in a very expensive toy shop.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I’ve always been creative, from messing around with cameras as a kid to constantly coming up with random ideas that just had to be made. Starting my own business was the natural next step.
Now, I get to be creative every day and call it “work”… which is still wild to me, in the best way.

We keep things clean, simple, and respectful. Sanitised equipment, hands washed, minimal crew when filming, and masks if preferred.
