A Wonderful Experience – Patient, Kind, and Truly Talented
We recently had a puppy photoshoot with Carl, and I can’t recommend him enough.
Our pup Nova is quite cautious by nature, especially in new environments, but Carl was incredibly patient, gentle, and genuinely attentive throughout the entire session.
It took a good 20–30 minutes for Nova to feel settled, and not once did Carl rush us—quite the opposite. He took his time, played with her, offered treats, and made sure she felt safe and happy before even starting the shoot. His calm, dog-loving approach really helped build trust.
The studio, located in his home, felt cosy and relaxed—perfect for both of us. It’s also conveniently next to a big park, which was ideal for a pre-shoot toilet break and a post-session leg stretch!
Carl made sure we took breaks whenever needed, and his patience never wavered. The turnaround was super quick, and the photos are absolutely beautiful—he has such an eye for capturing dogs' personalities. To top it off, he even sent me extra edited photos, far beyond what I had paid for, simply because I was so indecisive and he wanted me to be happy.
You can truly tell Carl loves what he does, and that passion shines through in his work. Highly, highly recommend for anyone looking to capture special memories with their pup.

Award-winning international advertising photographer and dog lover Carl Lyttle founded Dogs by Carl as a bespoke, creative photography service that captures the personality and essence of every dog with timeless, beautiful fine art photography.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Based in Wimbledon, London, Dogs by Carl began life as a way to keep taking pictures when the world and its borders closed during the pandemic. Not able to travel on location, what started as a visual record documenting day-to-day life with his beloved Fox Red Labrador Skyla has, by demand, become much more than a passion project, and is now a growing fine art dog photography service.
