I am so glad Neil from Diabetes Solution is taking me through my journey of reversing diabetes. Neil is not a simple nutritionist, he is a coach a mentor and a teacher. His approach is professional and friendly and data driven. We got on straight away from the initial free consult, which is crucial as it makes difficult things so much less daunting as you are supported all the way. Neil gives you all the tools that are needed in a very organised manner which is great. More...

I reached out to Neil at a stage when my HBA1c had substantially increased. I was trying various things to keep my weight under control but had very little success. I found my discussions with Neil very valuable. He is very personable and is able to break down and explain complex topics in a simple, easily understood style. There is so much research and analysis out there so it becomes extremely difficult to identify the ones that are suitable to you as an individual and this is where Neil can make a real impact. Neil has a lot of knowledge on the subject of nutrition and its impact on blood sugar levels. His suggestions on diet changes, and a holistic approach to lifestyle changes really resonated with me. I am now following Neil's advice diligently and really looking forward to my next HBA1c test. More...

Before meeting with Neil, I had tried lots of ‘diets’ in an attempt to lose some weight and become more healthy, but had never been able to stick with anything for more than a few weeks, or seen much by way of results.
For some time, I have been interested in the effect poor gut health can have on physical and mental well-being, so when I heard Neil speak for the first time I was immediately drawn to his approach.
Prior to starting the process, I was slightly overweight, lethargic, suffering from daily headaches and joint pain from osteoarthritis.
Now, 3 months in, I have lost nearly a stone and am well on my way to achieving my target weight. My joints are less painful, I have more energy, less headaches, and am never hungry as I am not ‘dieting’!
Needless to say, I am over the moon with my progress and I would heartily recommend him to friends, family and anyone else who could benefit from his help.
I have found him to be honest and professional, and the service he provides to be excellent value; I just wish I had met him years ago.
If you are reading my testimony and are feeling as I did give Neil a call and have a chat – I haven’t looked back and am so pleased I took that step!

I was approaching a knee operation and wanted to lose weight in preparation – I was also conscious of feeling flabby!
Neil made it very clear that he would only work with me if I was serious about wanting to lose weight and would properly commit to the program.
I said yes and three months later I have lost 25lbs, feel better and have never gone to bed hungry!
Neil’s weight-loss program is remarkably simple to understand and follow and yet I have learned a great deal about food and my own eating habits. This is not some kind of dieting fad but an awareness of what I choose to eat and drink and how much to exercise – limits and targets were agreed, I played my part and the results came in.
Neil was there throughout with support, encouragement and yet he told it exactly as he saw it – professional all the time.
I’m delighted with the results so far and also delighted that I have a framework and awareness that I can continue to use in the future – thank you Neil, I cannot recommend you highly enough!

I tried a number of times to lose weight over the Last few years with varying degrees of success. I stayed away from fad diets as I believed they were never long term solutions and the weight I did lose I always put back on.
I chose to work with Neil because he focused on nutrition and more holistic lifestyle changes rather than just dieting. Neil also went into some very useful detail regarding the lifestyle changes (we all know we should eat more fibre because healthcare professionals say it is good for us), but now I know WHY it is good for me thanks to Neil’s explanation.
Working with Neil is very straightforward, so far I have lost 7 kilos in 10 weeks and it has been really easy so far. Neil is very serious about keeping me focused on my goals and will only deal with people who are serious about losing weight without the yoyo style diet fads.
As well as advice on eating better, Neil regularly gives me recipes to try and a structured daily exercise routine which take about 15 minutes every day.
Neil is a qualified health professional who offers invaluable advice and support as well as the lifestyle tips.

I have Ulcerative Colitis (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), which is controlled by immunosuppressant which meant I was getting colds and chest infections every month or so.
I had next to no energy. As I have a 3 year old to look after I couldn’t go on like this, so I thought a nutritionist might be able to help (my diet consisted of high sugar foods to try and gain weight to no avail).
Since working with Neil I have changed the way I think about what I am eating, I have drastically reduced my sugar in take and changed to a healthier diet (colitis permitting) and I have only had one chest infection in 5 months.
I have so much more energy, am going to bed later which has improved my relationship with my Husband. All this is down to the advice and guidance from Neil. He closely monitors what I am eating and how I am feeling and relates this to my symptoms, which have now reduced as I can manage my diet and stress levels more effectively.
Neil is always there at the end of an email or the phone when I need some support. He has given lots of useful recipes to keep my diet varied. He is helping me to gain weight and muscle mass, which is slowly creeping up.
I don’t know where I would be today without Neil’s help and guidance.

How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?
Diet plays a fundamental role in both health and wellbeing - it's the cornerstone, really.
Think of food as the fuel that powers a complex machine - your body. Now, if you put high-quality fuel into a machine, it runs smoothly and efficiently. The same goes for your body. By choosing nutrient-rich foods, you're essentially ensuring that every system functions optimally. This doesn’t just affect your physical health, but also your mental clarity and emotional balance.
Eating a balanced diet rich in whole, natural foods can help stabilise blood sugar levels, which is crucial not only for preventing, managing (and potentially reversing) type 2 diabetes but also for maintaining energy levels throughout the day. It's like setting a steady pace at which your body can perform without unnecessary interruptions.
And then there’s the aspect of dietary fibre, often overlooked but incredibly important. Fibre helps in digestion, yes, but it also feeds the friendly bacteria in your gut. These bacteria help reduce inflammation and create chemicals that can make us feel better mentally and emotionally. It's fascinating to think that what you eat can influence your mood and thoughts in such a direct way!
Moreover, the choice to eat healthily often encourages other good habits, like regular physical activity and better sleep patterns, creating a positive feedback loop in your health routine. Essentially, a good diet isn't just about preventing diseases; it's about creating a foundation for a vibrant, energetic life where you can thrive.
It's always exciting for me to share just how profound an impact a thoughtful, nutritious diet can have on your life. It's not just about living longer - it's about living better.
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about working in the field of nutrition and health - particularly focusing on type 2 diabetes prevention, management and reversal - is the profound impact that lifestyle changes can have on individuals' lives. Witnessing someone regain control of their health through diet and lifestyle adjustments is incredibly rewarding. It’s not just about numbers on a scale or glucometer; it’s about seeing the joy in someone’s eyes when they realise they have the power to influence their health outcomes. Each person's success story is a reminder of why this work is so important - it's about empowering individuals to live their best lives, full of energy and vitality. It's truly inspiring to be a part of such meaningful transformations.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The inspiration to start my own business in nutrition and type 2 diabetes management came from a combination of personal experiences and professional observations. Seeing close family members and friends struggle with the implications of type 2 diabetes, I recognised the profound impact that lifestyle and dietary choices had on their health. This personal connection gave me a deep empathy and a drive to help others.
Professionally, I noticed a gap in how diabetes was traditionally managed - often focused more on medication than on preventative or corrective lifestyle changes. I wanted to create a service that empowers individuals through education and practical strategies that they can apply in their daily lives. Starting my own business offered the freedom to innovate and implement programs tailored specifically to the needs of those at risk of or managing type 2 diabetes. It has been a way to directly apply my knowledge and passion in a way that truly helps people lead healthier, happier lives.
Why should our clients choose you?

My approach isn't just about managing symptoms; it's about understanding each client's unique lifestyle, preferences, and challenges, and then crafting a personalised plan that not only addresses blood sugar levels but also improves overall wellbeing.
I specialise in preventive strategies and the reversal of pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes through diet and lifestyle changes, backed by the latest research and evidence-based practices. Moreover, I stay continuously updated with the newest developments in nutritional science to ensure my clients receive the most effective and modern care possible.
I believe in building lasting relationships with my clients, supporting them through their journey, and being a constant source of encouragement and accountability. This holistic, compassionate, and informed approach is why clients should choose to work with me - it’s not just about better health metrics, it’s about a healthier, more vibrant life.
