Q&As

Honestly? It’s the peace of mind I give my clients. There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing that moment when the worry lifts from their shoulders—when they realize their loved ones and their business will be taken care of, no matter what.

Estate planning isn’t just paperwork to me. It’s about real people, real families, and real businesses. I love hearing my clients’ stories—whether it’s a parent wanting to secure their children’s future, a business owner making sure their company can keep running, or someone simply wanting to make things easier for their family.

I get to turn what seems like a daunting task into a simple, stress-free process. And at the end of it, my clients walk away feeling safe, prepared, and confident. That’s what makes this job so special to me.

After COVID, my wife’s grandmother came to live with us. At first, things seemed fine, but over time, we noticed changes—forgetfulness, confusion, struggling with decisions. Eventually, it became clear: she had lost capacity.

We hadn’t planned for this. No Lasting Power of Attorney, no will, no trust for the house; no clear instructions. When she needed care, her life savings disappeared into fees.

When she passed, I saw the exhaustion in my wife’s face—not just from grief, but from years of stress that could have been avoided. If we’d put simple protections in place, things would have been so much easier.

That experience made me realise that I didn't know anything about something so serious in life. So I began learning and the more I did., the more I wanted to become qualified and start my own business helping others.

Because protecting your loved ones starts long before you think you need to.

Because I’ve been where you are—I know first hand the stress, confusion, and financial strain that comes from not having the right plans in place. Destiny Wills is where I help individuals take control.

I make the process simple, stress-free, and tailored to you. No confusing legal jargon, no one-size-fits-all approach—just clear, practical solutions that protect your loved ones, your assets, and your peace of mind.

With my expertise in Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Business Protection, I ensure you’re covered for whatever life throws your way. I genuinely care about my clients, and I’ll guide you through every step—because planning for the future should give you confidence and comfort, not anxiety.

Yes.
COVID lockdown changed everything and now about half of my clients prefer to use my services over Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams etc.
I still like to meet clients in person and sometimes, it is necessary, but these days online works too.

Virtual appointments are possible and if we meet in person at your office or home, I will ensure that you feel safe and comfortable.

Services

Every year, thousands of families face disputes over inheritance, often caused by unclear or outdated wills.

Your will should serve as a clear and definitive statement of your wishes, ensuring your assets are distributed exactly as you intend. However, poorly drafted wills frequently lead to confusion and family conflict.

Our will-writing service goes beyond simply drafting documents. With years of expertise, we specialise in creating precise, legally sound wills tailored to your unique circumstances.

By addressing potential areas of contention, we help minimise the risk of disputes and safeguard your family’s future.

A well-prepared will is more than a legal requirement—it’s peace of mind, knowing your loved ones are protected and your wishes respected.

Let us guide you through the process with professionalism and care, ensuring a smooth transition of your estate and preventing unnecessary stress for your family.

As we age, the likelihood of becoming incapacitated increases significantly.

By age 65, over 50% of individuals face a risk of losing the ability to make crucial decisions. This statistic rises to nearly 75% for those over 80, and even for younger individuals, incapacity affects 1 in 5.

Incapacity is often more likely than death, yet many remain unprepared. Without a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) in place, even close family members must seek court approval to manage your financial or healthcare decisions, leading to unnecessary stress and delays during critical times.

An LPA ensures your trusted representatives can act in your best interests when you’re unable to. Planning ahead protects your wishes, avoids costly legal processes, and gives you peace of mind knowing your affairs will be handled smoothly. Secure your future with an LPA today.

Inheritance Tax (IHT) can significantly impact the wealth you leave behind, with estates valued above the £325,000 threshold often subject to a 40% tax.

Without proper planning, your family could face unexpected financial burdens, potentially forcing the sale of assets such as property or businesses to cover the tax liability.

Effective IHT planning ensures that more of your hard-earned assets are passed on to your loved ones, rather than to HMRC.

Strategies such as gifting assets, setting up trusts and using exemptions proactively, can significantly reduce or eliminate your IHT liability.

Start planning now to take full advantage of the available allowances and reliefs.

The rising cost of care poses a significant financial challenge to homeowners in England and Wales.

With average care home fees often exceeding £1,500 per week and stays often lasting between 2 to 10 years, these expenses can quickly erode even substantial estates.

While it’s often assumed that protecting your home from care fees is difficult, legal strategies such as setting up trusts offer solutions, but these must be setup when the likelihood of needing care is not imminent.

Trusts allow homeowners to safeguard their single biggest asset, while remaining fully compliant with UK law.

By placing your property or savings into a trust, you retain control while shielding them from unnecessary depletion, ensuring your family’s inheritance remains intact.

Trusts have evolved over centuries to become one of the most effective ways to protect and manage your assets.

By establishing a trust, you can determine precisely how and when your beneficiaries receive their inheritance, offering flexibility and security for generations to come.

Unlike leaving outright gifts in a will, which can expose your estate to risks such as divorce settlements, care fees, or additional inheritance tax, trusts provide a protective layer.

They can shield assets from an estranged spouse, ensure your wealth isn’t used to cover care fees for a surviving spouse, and reduce inheritance tax liability for future generations.

Trusts also allow you to delay gifts until beneficiaries reach a certain age or meet specific conditions, helping to safeguard their financial future.

Whether you wish to preserve your family home, protect children or grandchildren, or secure long-term wealth, trusts offer a tailored and robust solution for your legacy.
