Hello, my name is David. I am an experienced BSc degree qualified therapist, and a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Therapists (registered). I work as an Adult Integrative Therapist, meaning I blend into the work the theories I believe are relevant to each client, all based on a genuineness, unconditional respect and empathy in every working relationship.

I love the opportunity to genuinely listen in a fully present manner to people, not only listening but hearing what they are saying. This is about enabling my client to trust me and the therapy process, whilst enabling me to experience raw empathy with my client and respect the challenge of their issues.

I have always been gregarious by nature, even as a child. My eclectic past has included many years in youth work, Sales, Diploma in Youth & Community work, then 11 years as counsellor and groupworker for the Probation Service in Northern Ireland. After that, I established my own business setting up and running a Fish & Chip Sop/Cafe successfully for 9 years. Ultimately going back to University at 56 and completing a BSc degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I wish to bring the variety of understanding and learning from all these environments into play as I support others.

My 'Raison d'etre' (purpose) in life is other people. I believe in the intrinsic worth of every individual as a birthright. Equally I acknowledge we can all struggle with our circumstances or be made victims through the way other people are, or choose to behave. I believe in facilitating people realising and reclaiming their own worth, and searching out their very own empowerment.

For people in my geographical area (Northern Ireland) I can provide in person therapy in a safe and set apart counselling room at my house and I have over five hundred hours of online therapy completed.

I am fully insured, surfaces are sterilised, I am vaccinated and water is provided in brand new bottles.
