Other companies could learn from Datel. On previous occasions when I have called upon other companies, they have either failed to respond to calls/emails, failed to keep appointments without word and their work has been found to be shoddy. Datel is in a league of its own. I received both texts and emails keeping me fully informed of my appointments as well as reminders and telephone calls on the day notifying me that the electrician was on his way. I've used Datel for years now, and every time the company comes up trumps, from re-wiring to resolving minor niggles. I wouldn't use anyone else for our electrics. In the last couple of months, we've had all our old spotlights replaced with LEDs, plus a list of annoying electrical issues and some new lighting. Today, the tick list is done, and all work finished. Over the weeks it has taken, every engineer has turned up on time, been polite and friendly and got on with the jobs efficiently and effectively. Having used you in the past, you were my first port of call. I was however disappointed, when I called the lady asked if I wanted a quote and told me a cost, I said no thank you I had to have the bathroom extractor fixed so an engineer would be great, again she told me an hourly rate. There was no mention of plus VAT or minimum cost. After three days of reminders Adam came 40 mins late but I did get a fifteen minute before arrival text. He was polite and very efficient, it seems my husband, who suffered from dementia had accidentally turned the isolator switch off. I think Adam was in the property less than ten minutes but I was still charged for a full hour plus VAT, which I have paid. That equates to £600 per hour, too much I feel, even for a highly skilled engineer. Sadly I won't be using or recommending you. I recently needed to replace four ceiling downlights in my kitchen, and also a broken exterior wall light on the balcony of my apartment. I am not a DIY fan, so I decided to contact a local electrical firm to undertake the tasks on my behalf. I already knew of Datel Electrical Ltd, having passed by their local base on numerous occasions. It was also comforting to discover that the Company is listed with Checkatrade. Initial contact via email was fabulous! Jo was very warm and welcoming, swiftly arranging for her colleague David to make a site visit to assess the situation. David arrived promptly on the appointed day. A very affable and knowledgeable guy. An agreeable quote for the jobs reached my PC inbox promptly. A booking was soon made for engineer Harry to undertake the tasks in question. A pleasant young man, he arrived punctually on the arranged day, and carried out the repairs/replacements in a very efficient and professional manner. I was particularly impressed with how he tackled a glitch that arose with the light switch that operates the balcony light. A wiring issue that was soon rectified, following deeper investigation. I was also delighted with the friendly, businesslike communication, received from Chris, the firm's Operations Manager. Datel Electrical Ltd are the ultimate on the following; approachability, communication, customer focus, efficiency, professionalism, punctuality, and first class workmanship.
