We couldn’t be happier with our experience! From the very beginning, he was absolutely incredible. He arranged the entire setup for our surprise proposal in advance, making sure everything was perfect before we even arrived. He captured the proposal itself beautifully, documenting the moment so naturally and authentically. Afterward, he took stunning photos around the Hazelwood Castle grounds, giving us a lovely variety of shots and happily catering to all the specific ideas we had in mind. On top of all that, he sent us the photos the very next day, which meant we could share the special moment with our family and friends straight away. I’ve booked Dash through recommendation from a friend who also had him for their wedding, so I knew I was on to a winner when I was struggling to find the right photographer for our big day. It’s hard to find the right photographer but with Dash I knew he was the one when we clicked straight away after one phone call. After having a meeting with him today , Dash explained everything in fine detail and I have no doubt that our day is going to be prefect because we’ve got Dash doing he’s amazing photography. Dash was absolutely brilliant in making us feel comfortable and capturing our special day. He was incredibly detail orientated from the beginning of the process, offering pre-wedding meetings to understand exactly what we wanted and sharing his process. On the day itself he gave us the space required but was also suggestive of when and where to take the best pictures, hanging back when he needed to and grabbing us for good picture opportunities when he thought best. We would highly recommend Dash, he was fantastic at our wedding. We had a good initial conversation and he was always quick to respond to questions when we had them in the build up. The pre-wedding shoot was good fun, it put us at ease with Dash who is friendly and engaging, plus we got some great photos from it. On the day Dash had got there early to take some pre wedding photos and getting ready. He worked through the shots we’d asked to get but in a way which was natural and flowed with the day, he wasn’t fixed or pushy, he adapted with the day as timings inevitably changed and caught a number of surprises our friends and family had planned for us. Dash was with us throughout the day and he was great throughout, as I say always friendly with us and guests, his advice was really good in structuring pictures so we maximised time with friends and family. He worked to get us our photos back to us very quickly too and our guests have really enjoyed seeing the photos on the gallery website. The photos are great and we’ve so many we’ll cherish and a number we think we’ll get in bigger prints and photographs. Dash being our photographer was a significant part of why our wedding day was such a great day! We were worried because neither of us is photogenic, but throughout the day he and Steve took dozens of photos that flattered us, where we look happy, natural and relaxed. We also realised during the day that, when you hire a photographer, you’re not only looking for someone who can take amazing photos, you also want someone who interacts well with you and your guests; Steve and Dash have a ‘perfect’ demeanour for their job – assertive, but fun and friendly, meaning everyone enjoyed being part of the photos. They have an eye, and a good imagination, for great photo settings as well as those ‘natural’ moments. Then, to top it off, they had our photos to us just two days after the wedding! Brendan done an absolutely superb job on our wedding photos, he really listened to what we wanted from the photos from the start and delivered everything we hoped, his attention to detail was amazing and the pictures he took of all of the little details around our venue was brilliant. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Expression & Timing! There other factors that a photographer can control to make a good picture but I believe how I interact with a client can make the difference between a good photography and a great photograph.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the social aspect of being a photographer and have got to know many clients over the years. I love the creative aspect of photography and trying new techniques to create a unique image.
