Darren was brilliant and professional from start to finish. During a meeting where we hammered out the details of the day he did a great job taking note of our wishes and encouraging our ideas which clearly showed on the day for instance taking lots of pictures of our DIY decorations. The formal pictures are brilliant however what we are most please with is how Darren captured the joy and raw feelings of the day so excellently. The informal candid moments are exceptional such as children playing and family members embracing, all our loved ones absolutely adore these pictures and are all asking to print and frame their natural laughs and joy. Despite unfortunate weather Darren did a great job taking amazing pictures on the moor in a short amount of time before the rain started, it's clear he is a talented photographer and it really shows in our windswept pictures with dramatic lighting and great use of natural framing. The pictures really ended up being better than expected and he delivered the final results in record time within a month. He stayed with us throughout our long wedding day starting from getting ready to the evening party and was tireless in his efforts to capture so many different events from speeches to the first dance. He is great at getting candid shots of guests, he covered all our small details of the wedding, aswell as group/family shots and our bride and grom pics. Unfortunately we had a very negative experience with Darren at our wedding last year - from being difficult to pin down for the consultation phone calls (one was taken half an hour late, from a pub garden) to a general negative attitude on the wedding day. Amongst other things we had confusing direction, standing on the brides dress and pulling out her veil, being told to "look happier" when doing the couple pictures, being interrupted while we greeted our guests and having to redo make up touch ups several times while he chatted about camera set ups to another vendor. We were ensured delivery of sneak peeks at 2 weeks and full delivery at 2 months, and both of these deadlines came and went, with us having to chase for our images. When we did get them back they included poorly edited images, for example one in which the grooms hair had been pasted over the top of the brides head. We were never offered the printed images that were mentioned in our contract and eventually we gave up waiting for follow up. We expressed our concerns nearly a year ago and have had no response at all from Darren, adding to our experience of unprofessionalism. We cannot recommend, and unfortunately will not be able to forget the negative memories of an otherwise beautiful day. More...

Darren was brilliant! We had two meetings beforehand to discuss our photo requirements, which Darren followed. He asked us what we wanted for our wedding photos and also a quite detailed list for group shots. Darren took good candid photos on the day, which all our guests love. He can capture our emotional moment very well when I smiled, cried, laughed, and scrunched my face under the confetti, and I love them all. He directed our shots very well on the day. I would advise you speak to any photographer about how many photographs you expect to receive back, be very specific about certain moments you want captured, and be sure of yourself when asking for specific photographs. Whilst planning for the big day, he tried to encourage us to be flexible (yes, some flexibility is needed) and hadn't allowed us to plan certain events such as the Confetti shot. This meant that our family portraits and confetti shots were ill planned and rushed, and several of our guests reported back that his attitude was not pleasant throughout the day (I would certainly agree). We had also mentioned how important it was to get formal family portraits, not just 'candid' style. Despite posing for these, it was not captured as requested. Unfortunately, I was not happy with our end result either - we only had about 600 photographs over the 11 hours of the day from TWO photographers organised with Darren, and they were poorly edited, if at all. Communication afterwards was blunt and unhelpful. Overall, I would not recommend Darren to photograph your wedding. More...

Darren did a fantastic job of photographing our wedding. We absolutely love our pictures. We wanted him to capture our wedding as it happened; not posed or staged but just very real moments. His photographs certainly express the excitement and the emotion of the day. It’s lovely to look at them and see the day in action, through other people’s eyes as well as remembering the day as we experienced it. Even in the more formal shots, he encouraged us to have fun, to laugh and just be ourselves, resulting in lots of happy memories captured for us to relive time and time again. Darren took some lovely photos of the venue, plenty of us and a whole range of pictures of our guests. I was able to use the photos to create personalised thank you cards.
