Personal Trainers

At 42 and very out of shape, I asked Dan for a fitness programme to help me rebuild strength and mobility, with a focus on developing at judo. I wanted to focus on the movement, lifts and exercises that would actually translate into performance on the mat. He listened without judgement, assessed my fitness and has delivered a step-by-step plan to get me there. Dan really knows his stuff, because it’s working.

Every session is smart, well-structured and tailored to my goals – no generic routines. He pushes you just enough but it always feels sustainable and purposeful. After a month, I’ve already noticed real improvements in strength, flexibility and recovery. It’s a good feeling.

Dan’s also genuinely personable, down-to-earth and funny, which makes challenging sessions more enjoyable than you’d expect. If you’re looking for proper expertise delivered with a relaxed, human approach, I’d highly recommend working with Dan.

Dan is truly one of a kind, he is very knowledgeable and patient with you. He takes onboard everything you struggle with and always has an alternative if necessary. Personal Trainers

This review is after having trained with Dan for around 6 months. I already had quite a few years of weightlifting experience but had never used a PT before so wasn't sure what to expect. I was coming back to the gym after 6 months out due to a bad disc injury and I was still a bit fragile.

I consulted with Dan to help me regain confidence in the gym, to help my recovery as well as teaching me new, safer techniques. My initial sessions were on breathing and movement exercises to help with the sciatica as I wasn't ready for actual weights, Dan did these for free, which I greatly appreciated. Once I'd recovered enough to start trying weights again, he showed me new training philosophies as I had expressed I now wanted to train for longevity or muscle building, rather than the powerlifting style which had led to my injuries.

Dan's knowledge of gym equipment, weightlifting exercises, movement and the biomechanics of the body is impressive and is exactly what I needed to show me how to train safely and effectively. Sessions were very humbling at first, using much lighter weights than I'm used to as I'd been off for so long, but also lighter due to the emphasis on controlled movements meant I was demanding more from my muscles without compromising the joints. His knowledge of the gym kit and exercises meant he was never short of ideas on what exercises to perform next and was able to be think on the fly if some equipment was already in use. Dan was able to make small adjustments in my form which helped make exercises feel more effective and safe, an example which we found applied to a lot of my exercises was on hand positioning and when to flare out my elbows for various back or chest exercises.

Dan's training sessions are good as he's able to push my intensity safely and is able to climb up in weights for exercises whilst still meeting the rep ranges. I'd find him jumping up the weight heavier than what I thought I'd be able to achieve, but I'd find myself able to do the weights, showing I can push myself harder than how I train on my own.

I needed flexibility in my training timetable as quite often work would send me away. I was having weekly sessions, but these weren't always at the same day/time, but Dan was able to accommodate this.

Dan's a great character and has a great sense of humour. He's very easy to talk and I very much enjoy our sessions.

I was given a taster and first session with Dan on my 66th birthday. Having never had a personal trainer before and not being a member of a gym I didn’t really know what to expect.
Very quickly I realised that Dan knew his stuff and that I was going to benefit in getting fitter with him. He devised a program of exercises that suited my needs and varied these every session. He pushed me hard, but not overly so and made sure that I did the exercises properly. He also provided me with a set of exercises to work on at home. I looked forward to each session with Dan, he is very personable and knowledgeable and I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

As someone who has had a few PT’s I can definitely say Dan is the best one I’ve had! I was with Dan for 2 years and in that time my confidence in the gym grow tremendously! He goes above & beyond to get the very best results for you and genuinely listens to what you want from your sessions, helping you to reach whatever goals you want to achieve! In the 2 years my goals changed and that was never an issue - Dan takes into consideration your lifestyle and works around it to help suit you! Dan is one of the best PTs I've worked with and been life changing for me.
He's knowledgeable, professional and patient. Training sessions are challenging but still somehow fun, you come away with the confidence and knowledge to take to work into your own sessions.
Dan takes a whole life approach- it doesn't end with just the session. He gives a nutrition plan that's manageable and therefore long term.
I highly recommend Dan. He's improved my gym confidence and fitness mindset, and couldn't ask for more in a personal trainer.

Danny has been supporting me and my family’s training programmes for years, initially I used to train in small groups that Danny used to put on at
Local gym.

It was very easy to feel relaxed in his company and his PT manner was very welcoming, so much so we booked him to set up training programmes for us. Then during lockdown, we ended up setting up a gym in our home and we had Danny round to asses our kit and write and monitor our programmes.

Danny is a highly skilled and focused PT who is always sharing snippets of info showcasing his technique, knowledge and style.

What started as a PT relationship ended up as a friendship.
