Q&As

Working one on one with my clients, seeing the garden developing and working outside in nature.

Got tired of being tied to an office and my day being the same, garden work offers much variety!

Reliability and good communication is key. Many new gardeners start with low fees, and soon find that it's not for them and quit, with no warning to clients leaving people mid season struggling to hire someone, or start a one off job but can't finish, due to underestimating time or equipment requirements.

I will visit your garden, send you a written quote so that you know that I've understood the job and that you know exactly what you'll pay, with any variations being specified ahead of the job starting. Once you're happy with my quote we can agree a start date.

Working outside so Covid or any future similar type of infection should be no issue.

Services

From August 31st to March 1st only.
Most types of hedge trimmed, can work at moderate height for larger hedges. Unable to carry out major reduction work due to more specialize equipment required.

I have different mowers to suit different lawns and can make regular cuts throughout the season. Lawn edge tidying and strimming also available for those hard to reach places.

I can work on most types of plants to a moderate height. Unable to do larger tree work due to insurance. Have reasonable amount of experience winter pruning apple/pear orchards for smallholdings.

Getting down and digging them out by the roots is a service I offer, I don't like to just rip the top off. Unable to offer chemical control as I'm unlicensed to use chemicals.

I can help with small planting projects from advising on plants to sourcing, ordering and getting them planted out for you.

Whether you dig or no dig, I can advise and help with all aspects of vegetable gardening, from seed selection and sowing, potting on, weed control, compost making and much more.

Building basic compost bins, turning compost for you, advice on getting the best from your garden waste.

Able to blow and collect leaves from gardens to get them tidy during autumn and winter.

I can clean moderate size areas with my high quality jet washing machine - I'll need power and water within a reasonable distance. Also happy to re-sand block paving once dried off.

Squeaky gates, broken hasps, odd bit of fencing damaged? That's the sort of small jobs. Not looking for whole fence replacement jobs or hard landscaping repairs currently.

If you just didn't get time in the autumn, or want an early spring tidy... If your tenants didn't look after the garden or you're moving and want to get the garden into shape before buyers see the house, or any other variable, this is a service for you. Whole or half day or more if required.
