Great gym but quite crowded both in the morning and evening. Best gym for the price in the area.

Quite pack during peak hours, missing a swimming pool. Modern machines

A little on the pricey side, but not too crowded and they give you towels. Not open weekends which was a pain, but one of the cleaner PureGyms with sufficient air ventilation.

Excellent gym near my office with great kit from Technogym, including the PureStrength plate-loading machines (leg press and lat row a highlight), which are hard to find around the City!
The weights room could do with a deadlifting/squatting platform, but otherwise this is a terrific place to pump some heavy iron.

It has everything you need and is big and clean with a variety of classes available if you register early enough. Honestly it is a very crowded at peak times but I'm putting this down to January sign-ups. Would have given 5 stars if it was open at the weekend and slightly less busy More...

Great gym with good equipment and clean facilities. Provides towels which isn't common for more budget gyms.

Good gym. Tons of equipment, everything you might need. It does get very busy though so make sure you pick the time you attend carefully.

Decent and well equipped so long as you can avoid the busy times. Clientele a bit uncouth and untidy

Really good gym with great staff. The place is clean, modern and does not smell like some gyms do! The classes are good and I found the staff helpful and friendly. Complimentary towels and shower gel, want more could you want!? Also of note the customers are the type I want to be around. Mixed 50/50 men to women so I think women fell comfortable using the gym and there is a lack of attitude here amongst the guys which I like. It's a work gym so no one really 'hanging out' people do their exercise and get off to work or home. More...

Pretty good gym. Beware the usual lunch hour rush if you're looking to use the weights.

Great gym, very close to Aldgate and Aldgate East tube stations. Great deal of equipment choice, only issue is it can be very busy during peak hours. Shower facilities are also great

I found this a good choice looking for a budget gym. Michelle, a manager, was very nice and quite helpful in clearing up some membership issues. Note that the gym is a pretty typical city gym, with a lot of stuff fit into a smallish space (but not as small as close by Fit4less). Very crowded at lunch hours, but there is a lot of cardio equipment. The weight area and the mens' changing areas are the most crowded. So if you are lifting and can go earlier or later, much easier. Nice to have towels supplied. More...

I feel the need to write a review after having gone there just twice.
First the good. The website is fantastic, the home club and options on offer are brilliant, the ease of subscription and letting yourself in is great.
So many other gyms insist you have "free PT sessions" where domesticated gym rates wax lyrical about toned this and buns of steel that, and then try to sell you expensive sessions after. The idea is you build up a dependency. Like drugs. But not with this.
That in itself gets a star for me. And the fact I have a rolling monthly contract.
The gym itself. It's OK. It's nothing special to be honest but for £39.99 it's basically exactly as good as you pay for.
Typical gym attracting a variety of different city boys. However if you are standing anywhere near a piece of equipment you will be asked constantly if it's in use. You could bring an old banana peel in, throw it infront of you and some tanned and toned twonk would eagerly ask you if that's "in use" and if he could "jump in" and do some reps on the banana. Then again in a Fitness First gym this would be followed by some advice on your "potassium levels" by an NVQ level 1 fitness 'enthusiast' before offering you a range of sessions of being shouted at for like sixty five pounds per hour.
In effect this gym will help you on your quick deflection/declination skills, as you have to develop that or there wouldn't be near enough time to get a set in.
I am glad I went for the multiclub option, having one ten minutes walk from my flat means that should I not be able to get on the stuff I need, all I have to do is leave the gym, change, return to my desk, rage out at colleagues for six hours while the pre-workout wears off and then sleepily head to the local Pure Gym to get pissed off about people doing exactly the same.
All in all basically exactly as you'd expect. Really it deserves 3.5 stars but I hit a PB today eating seven bananas in one set, so I'm in a good mood.

Nice open area with high ceilings and a lot of light. Even though the gym is underground it does not feel like it. There is plenty of equipment for any workout need.

The largest gym I've ever been to. I never have to wait for any machine or equipment, the floors are spacious and there's all the equipment that I need for my training. There are several free classes for every need. The changing room is clean and large, lockers are clean and spacious, showers are great and there's plenty of hair dryers. Bring a lock to close the locker - if you don't have any you can buy one from the vending machine. More...
