My mum is 77. After a life threatening battle with Covid in 2021 and a stroke 12 months later, my mom’s physical and mental wellbeing had severely deteriorated.
She experienced significant muscle wastage, a loss of short memory and some cognitive function.
Elisa started training sessions with my mom over a year ago. She uses body weight, dumbbells and bands to keep the sessions varied and interesting for my mum. Since then we have seen great improvements in her physical strength and ability to perform complex exercises. She is also much happier and confident in conversations. My mum looks forwards to her sessions.
Most importantly, Elisa cares about my mum’s health. She always checks in with updates and shares concerns if she notices any unusual pains or behaviour.

I’ve been working with Elisa for only a couple of months now. I came in as a pole dancer struggling to get my shoulder mount move, so she helped me with loads of recommendations for exercises I never heard of before to build core strength etc, and I got the move months before I thought I could!

Training with Lisa was an amazing experience! I initially chose to train with her because she represented what I was searching for myself, having a balanced fitness life whilst having a normal life as a woman.

I found Elisa thought Bark, and I’m so glad I did. She comes to my home, so no excuse for not doing my workout. My tone and balance has improved massively. I was very ill over Christmas with pneumonia, and Elisa was really good at developing a workout that was very gentle and chair based when I first started, until we built back up to where I was. How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
By carefully creating a training programme based on their goals and current fitness levels; I motivate all the way through by keeping in touch also during the days when we are not training together, and I review and change the sessions based on the progress made regularly, also asking the customer for regular feedback on how they feel they are doing. I am really supportive too! :)
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
Hard work and a sensible approach to nutrition!
You simply cannot out-train a bad diet, so if an amazing body is your goal, that cannot be achieved only with exercise. Sad but true!
The good thing is, people have a really wrong understanding about healthy eating, and you don't just have to eat chicken and broccoli for the rest of your life to look amazing!
I have a strong passion for nutrition and have done wide research in the area because of my own interest in it, so I am always happy to give clients advice to improve their lifestyle and diet so that they can achieve their goals.
What do you love most about your job?
Helping people, as getting them fit and strong is something that really improves the quality of life, fights ageing, does wonders for your mood and stress too. As I said before, the aesthetic benefits are just a bonus, I truly believe in fitness as a mantra that can change your life!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Becoming increasingly addicted to fitness after getting really into it after the birth of my first daughter.
I had lots of friends, or people from the gym, complimenting me about my shape (when I was over 35, and looking the fittest I had in my life) and asking for advice, so I realised I could turn my passion into a career and really make a difference.
Why should our clients choose you?
Because....I have been there!
I know how you feel, I know how hard it is to make time for one more thing in your busy schedule, I know how it is to be unmotivated and just want to sit with a cup of tea (or a beer ;) and watch Netflix, or to just have so much work to get done by a deadline that even sitting down and watching your favourite series is out of the question, let alone working out.
I am a working mum with 2 small children, 3 part-time jobs, a husband and no family help (all my relatives are in Italy), so I am here to show you that if I can find the time for this, anyone can.
And I will always be supportive because most of the time, I can relate to all of my clients's problems!

I started training people online during the second lockdown and was very dubious at first about the effectiveness of those sessions; in reality, they are just as effective, it's possible to correct form by carefully monitoring the exercises, I always do the whole session with the client to increase motivation and even with very limited equipment, I found these to work just as well as face to face. In fact, once the lockdown was over, some clients have preferred to remain online just because of how practical and time saving the sessions are (not wasting any time in traffic, being able to schedule a session in your bedroom, etc).
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
At the gym, we continue to sanitise any piece of equipment after use; during the height of the pandemic I was exclusively doing remote sessions.
