Jessie is a knowledgable and very sensitive behaviourist. She cares deeply about the animals and humans she works with. She works from a trauma informed background, through veterinary referral and will only ever aim to do what’s best for the animal.

We have a fear aggressive rescue dog and have been meeting with Jessie for around 7 months. She is very knowledgable, especially with dogs who have experienced trauma. She has an understanding which enables me as a caregiver to really feel that she understands our struggles, whilst she supports us using research based principles. We would highly recommend Jess. Jessie has been helping us with our very nervous rescue dog for about 4 months now. She is so kind and patient and really in tune with our dog's needs. We have seen a steady improvement with our dogs anxiety which wouldn't have been possible without Jessie's help More...

We recently contacted Jessie Sams when experiencing difficulties with one of our horses which we felt would benefit from her experience and expertise. Jessie Sams visited Athena on several occasions and worked individually with this horse and the wider herd. Her insight and remedial suggestions were invaluable and enabled us to overcome the problems we were experiencing as a team xx More...

My two rescue dogs are responding well to the calm and un hurried approach of being able to take things at their own pace. They appear to enjoy the enrichment sessions and are forming a bond with Jessie which is lovely to see. Thoroughly recommend her quiet, relaxed way of dealing with anxious dogs putting them at ease. What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing the animals and caregivers I work with blossoming and becoming confident as their relationships deepen .whether this is for basic training, behaviour consultations or helping an animal start their recovery journey.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was inspired to start my own business after meeting so many people having taken the rewarding step of welcoming a rescue into their home or having an animal that had a traumatic or negative experience that were struggling to manage their pet. It is this that inspired me to start my business .
Why should our clients choose you?
I offer my clients support and empathy with their pets problems and treat them all as individuals tailoring training and behaviour plans to suit. I regularly attend seminars, trainings and conferences to ensure my knowledge is fully up to date. I am particularly passionate about trauma and ptsd in dogs and horses and helping guardians to support their animals to heal and lead a full life. I have also presented at the Equine Assisted and Faciltated Practitioners Network International Conference on the rehabilitation of traumatised animals.
