An absolute favourite. Kids did zip lining, and then all the family had lunch and a walk. Mobilr reception can be spotty at times. Next time, we will do some mountain biking. More...

If you like mushrooms picking it was full of edible mushrooms last year. (You can even find some magic ones if you know where to look). The area is massive, so you can choose to have a walk or go to the picnic area with a free zip line for kids, 'go ape' into the trees or check the sculpture trail (which I didn't like). More...

The Forest of Dean is a magical place with so much natural beauty. It's home to many species of bird such as Goshawk, Hawfinch, Buzzard and Dipper. When I visited the Forest of Dean, I was mesmerised by the sheer beauty of the place, and the wide range of diversity and habitats for all the birds, from a lake to forest. It's an excellent day trip, and is also great for children to go out and do some exploring. It's a fantastic place to visit for ornithologists, nature lovers, and those who love the outdoors. It is so worth visiting! More...

A great place to relax and to walk, we been to the sculpture park, did the round walk and it was quite good. Very relaxing, if you do not see anyone, quiet, lots of birdsong. Some path a wee bit muddy, mostly gravelpath. Some sculptures were really good, some not, but that's my view. One in particular, the cathedral glass window is amazing!!! There is plenty to do for kids at beechenhurst, coffee place was well stocked with food and staff friendly.Plsnty of parking spaces. We did had a grand day out.... More...
