I Booked Connor for a few video shoots over the last year for my bands publicity portfolio. He's been fantastic. He's punctual, smart and has a great 'feel' for what angles/moments to capture. We've been able to produce some brilliant videos from the footage that have since secured us work with many clients. I also used Connor for a photo shoot for my acts and we felt like we were guided through the process and made to feel at ease during the shoot, resulting in some amazing publicity pictures. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
For me the secret to taking a great photograph is allowing yourself and your models the freedom to be creative. Look at each situation as an opportunity to try something new, have fun. A great photo won't happen if you don't try.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Questions I may ask depend on the project type but ideally it's always good to see your inspiration and learn as much about your wants and needs photographically. This helps me have a clear understanding of your vision and how I can align my style to create something you will love.
What do you love most about your job?
I love how fast paced and creative my job is. I like getting inspired as I'm shooting and trying out new poses and locations. Collaboration is also another part of my job I absolutely love as another creative mind or vision is always so exciting to get ideas bouncing around.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have been a self employed musician since 2016 and have been lucky enough to perform at many weddings since 2020. I have always loved the creativity that I found I could explore in both photography and videography so I felt inspired to surround myself with people from those fields that I could learn off and further my passion. This led to me creating 53 Degrees Media and allowing myself the freedom to be creative with my storytelling and editing through both medias.
