We were so happy to have Sean help with the interior design for our house. He was very meticulous and dedicated his time in understanding how we wanted the house to look.
What’s your interior design process?
We use the RIBA design stages, which include time with you running through the brief, preparing a look and feel document to start getting an idea of what you are looking for. We then move onto the concept once the brief has been accepted, this is where I start looking at sketch plans/layouts and initial furniture options and preparing a more detailed mood board into the design direction of your space. Once this has been signed off, we then move into the schematic design stage where we start to select specific pieces of furniture, paint finishes, fabrics etc. Plans with more detail are also provided at this point which then leads us to detailed design stage. This is where everything is finalised and handed over to you to place the order.
I do have a preference to work with a team of contractors but I am also willing to work as an advisor on personal projects.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
Modern, Contemporary, Traditional, Vibrant/Playful - there are a lot of styles I can cater to and we can definitely have a look at what style you are after through the look and feel/brief stage of the project.
What do you love most about your job?
I love being creative and seeing ideas come to life. I also enjoy problem solving and bringing piece of mind to my clients throughout this process.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My daughters, 1521 aims to be a family orientated business. I personally have not been a fan of the way parents get treated when they return to work and wanted to create a space where parents have the flexibility to be parents but also get to work in a career/industry that they love. Plus, for those who aren't parent's, things happen in life and I think flexible working conditions are the so helpful and I just wanted to create that while also delivering some really amazing projects, on time and to a high standard. There is no lack in quality especially because I enjoy what I do.
Why should our clients choose you?
Authenticity, creativity, flexible and the piece of mind I will give you. I am a calm natured person and in the past, I was always known for my ability to bring piece to highly stressful situations. I don't panic and even if i am panicking, I know there's a solution and I will find it.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Both. I can work remotely if needed. I have had the pleasure of working internationally so I understand what it takes to work on projects that are not local. If so I do require regular updates/video calls and possibly the odd site visit every so often.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
N/A - the business was started post covid-19 but we will always adhere to keep our clients and everyone else we work with safe.
