My wife and I looked on mybuilderdotcom to find a builder for our house renovation. Valter was very impressive on his initial visit with some exciting ideas for the house improvements and we had no hesitation in choosing Happy Building above the other two building firms who quoted. This was the deciding factor even though the other firms' quotes came in at a lower price.
It quickly became clear that Happy Building are also very experienced design consultants and they spent a long time with us working on the detail, look and feel of how the house would look after the renovation. Detailed plans in CAD enabled us to evaluate the options which was a huge help for a pair of non-creatives
Having signed off on the budget and scope of work, Valter's team of builders arrived. We were hugely impressed with the skill, experience and work ethic of the team; the fact that they arrived early each morning smiling underlined the "Happy Building" epithet; Jarek, the site foreman, had an especially cheery demeanour.
We continued to live in the house during the two month project and the team were happy to work around us. The work involved stripping the walls back to bricks, removing walls, reinforcing foundations, plastering, extending the bathroom and removing one bedroom to create a large ensuite bedroom. The latter certainly would not have been done without Valter's vision and patience in explaining how it would look.
We were kept informed at each stage of the process and consulted on any important decision which was most welcome and made us feel part of the project management process. We were able to deviate from the original plans without any problem which was very important in achieving the final look which we had desired. Valter was very careful in sticking to time and budgets which I had never experienced before with builders. We felt like we were working with a team that wanted to create the best look and feel possible and took genuine pride in their work and output rather than treating us as another project to be finished within an arbitratry timeframe which suited the firm.
The kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, living room and hallways were finished to the highest possible specification within our budget. There were one or two small features which, with hindsight, we would have improved such as door handles and shower fittings, however this was down to us not specifying exactly what we wanted. These are very minor details and a tiny part of the overall picture.
In summary we are exceptionally pleased with the work Valter, Jarek and the team did and would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them; indeed we are recommending them to ourselves for a follow-up project of upgrading our conservatory next spring!
At the end of the project we were given some "Happy Building" mugs which say, "You Dream it. We build it." For us a more appropriate summary would be, "You and us dream it. We build it.".
We are very satisfied customers and would be more than happy to have anyone in our area considering home improvements or renovations come over to our house and look at Happy Building's work.

We provide a combined service which includes architectural drawing, detailed construction drawings, planning permission application, structural calculations and building control application. We normally cut the consultancy fee up to 40% by combining these services. Typically, the clients pay for the architect twice and structural engineer again by following traditional Architect and Engineer route.
