We undertook a conversion of our loft into a bedroom, bathroom and music room. We are delighted with the results and the conversion has made an excellent addition to the house. We were very impressed with Debra's attention to detail and her innovative ideas for maximising the use of the space. The music room is sound-proofed and has large sliding doors which let in a lot of natural light - really good for music practice. All in all we are delighted with the conversion and would have no hesitation in recommending dparchitect. More...

I have had Debra design extensions for me in both my old property and current one. She's receptive to customer ideas and is very honest about the costs, coming up with suggestions that met my budget. She is excellent at managing the construction (I chose to work with builders she found) and very rigorous about the detail. Highly recommend her to anyone planning a project. More...

Debra worked with us on our kitchen extension and loft remodeling, planning the work as well as managing the project with the builders. Throughout, we really valued her thoughtful and thorough approach. We felt that she guided us while also being guided by what we wanted, using her experience and expertise to help us realize the project in the way that we envisaged it, steering us away from things that wouldn't work and helping us to meet all the various planning requirements. Throughout, she was a calm and friendly presence and it was always a pleasure to see her, and she also had a great relationship with the builders. We love what she helped bring to fruition in our house. More...
What do you love most about your job?
I love the design process - interacting with clients to develop a brief and designing alternative solutions. I also enjoy collaborating with all the participants in the process of design and construction. I take a very hands on approach to problem solving and enjoy seeing a design on paper take shape on site.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I previously worked in larger architects practices but wanted to work for clients who were also end users, to develop those relationships and be more involved at every stage of a project - seeing them through from start to finish.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am very experienced and have very good communication skills. I listen carefully to clients and I understand what it takes to see a project through successfully.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes. I use CAD software to produce design drawings that I email to clients, the design team and builder in PDF format. I use Whats App to communicate during the build. I use Zoom software for remote meetings if they cannot take place face to face.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
During COVID restrictions I always tested before face to face meetings and asked that others did too. Where necessary meetings took place remotely. Builders were instructed to report any staff exhibiting COVID symptoms or positive testing as soon as possible. When site meetings took place they were socially distanced and site staff were asked to leave site for the duration of the meeting.
