Upon meeting Rebecca we knew that she would be the perfect photographer for her wedding. At our meeting she was relaxed, knowledgeable and felt like an instant friend. She was happy to be a part of our slightly odd ball plans and offered helpful professional advise. Rebecca's presence on the wedding day was calm, caring and all round wonderful. There were many points where she blended into the background capturing key moments without ruining it for others. She was a great practical help in moments of need too! Rebecca was incredibly accommodating and was happy to take any special requests when asked. When we went for our couples shoot it didn't feel cringey or awkward. We chatted and laughed as a newly married couple and enjoyed being a part of Rebecca's creative process. The pictures themselves are simply beautiful. I find myself looking through the whole album often. She captured parts of the day that I didn't know were going to be so important. Those little things, the people who came and their expressions, the details you put so much effort into planning- all of those came through on the photos. There is so many wonderful photos that it is hard to chose favourites. Communication with Rebecca has been clear and prompt and we've always felt that Rebecca put a lot of care and attention into making our day special. We've felt very cared for as a couple. We had a mini photo session with the aim to get a few decent pictures of the family, the subjects being lovely but awkward to shoot and definitely don't follow instruction, under 3s and two overly light sensitive, blink at anything adults. Rebecca was amazing! She came to our home and the boys were immediately at ease with her, she encouraged normal behaviour with them, which is exactly what we wanted to capture and we got some fantastic photos of us all. I was given Rebecca's details by the Ickworth Hotel, where we were holding my husband's 40th birthday. From the first email Rebecca was lovely to communicate with and even nicer to talk to. I explained exactly what I wanted over the Saturday of my husband's party and she totally got it. We are so glad that we did as the photos have exceeded our expectations. The photos are super natural and just what we were are after. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Firstly it's having a relationship with the subject. From my experience of photographing celebrities under high pressure for national magazines, through to the relationship I have with wedding couples, however long or intense the relationship is, there is always a connection, and the connection creates an environment to capture the image. If my clients can instantly feel relaxed with me, then I am able to get the photographs that they will love. I work fast, and calmly, and in a relaxed and natural way, and this consistently creates a space for people to feel at ease in front of the camera. I find the good light, the interesting background, and allow the subject to breath within the space.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I'd ask what are your hopes for the outcome of the project. How do you see the images being used. What feel do you want in the images. There are many factors that would be discussed as every project is different.
What do you love most about your job?
I love that I am constantly doing new things, meeting new people and creating something new. I love turning up at a job, and not knowing how it will pan out. I love that I'm constantly capturing moments in time, created or natural depending on the job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always done photography, from school, to studying a degree in photography. I then was a self employed photographers assistant before getting my own commissions for national magazines. From there I began wedding and family photography too. I have been a self employed photography for the last 20 years, and I am thrilled that my business has evolved and changed over this time to allow me to continue to make a living from photography.

Because I am honest and trustworthy and I have a huge amount of experience doing what I do. I'm a pretty nice person to spend time with, be that a short family session or full day wedding. I'm quiet but friendly, I want to do a good job for you always, and I take a good photograph! I genuinely will try my best for you, I want my clients to love the results, so I will work tirelessly with you to capture the images you want to cherish.
