Ben was very professional and listened to the ideas we had for our baby shoot as well as suggesting some good ideas so we had a good variety of photos to cherish.
He was so good with our little one, keeping it the session fun and always ensuring our baby was comfortable.

What makes a great website?
The greatest websites are those that are never finished!
As bold as that claim might sound, when you stop to think about it for a second, it makes sense. The internet is constantly evolving, as are the wants and needs of your audience. Search engines even reward your website for changing. So if you want to be near the top of the results in the Google machine, your website needs to be nurtured and grown like a living, breathing existence.
That's where we come in....
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
• Do you have an existing website? If so, what is the URL?
• Why do you want a new website?
• Who is your target audience?
• Who are your competitors?
• What do you want your website to do for you / your business?
• Do you have any inspirational sites that you like the look / function of?
• Are there any sites / functions that you particularly dislike?
Describe your creative process.
As a Lecturer of Digital Media at South Devon College (further and higher education, FE / HE), I tend to practice what I preach by following a strict, yet flexible creative process. Initially establishing WHY a client is looking for my services can reveal a lot about the project, and often has an impact on HOW it will be completed.
Although a lot of what I do as a designer is completely or largely digital, I am a keen advocate for putting pen (or pencil) to paper. This is a vital step in the design process as it allows me to think about the practical layout of a project before getting carried away with pretty and eye-catching designs.
Once a plan has been formed, it's time to get digital, working with fully-licensed, industry-standard software from market leaders such as Adobe.
Most projects will usually take a number of forms before completion, with the client involved at every stage to review, reflect and critique. After all, it's your business and nobody knows it better.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
The most common information includes;
• Company name
• Logo (if you don't have one, we can design that too...)
• Colour schemes
• Contact information
• Current website hosting details (if applicable)
• Deadline
There are also potentially a number of things that will be bespoke to you and your business, but that's nothing that an informal, friendly conversation can't sort out.
What do you love most about your job?
Anything I say here will be a cliché, but I will say this; there is nothing more satisfying than listening to someone express their passion for what they do, then helping them to communicate that to their audience in their vision.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My children.
I was 29 when my first was born, and I decided I needed to act then if I was to provide the life I wanted for him. I took myself back into full-time education , and started studying a foundation degree (FdA) in Creative Digital Media at South Devon College, as I had worked small-scale freelance for many years alongside the mundane 9-5s.
Upon completion of my degree in the May, I was working for a local web design agency, but then was offered a teaching position at South Devon College, where I had only finished my studies four months previously. I am still a Lecturer at the college, but had always intended to run my own design business. When I heard that Promo Lounge was for sale, I jumped at the opportunity.
Now, I have reduced my hours at the college to spend more time in the office, which you are more than welcome to visit for a coffee and a chat about your needs.

Again, any response to this question is likely to be rife with clichés, but in all honesty, the most honest answer I can give, is 'me'. I will look after each and every client with the same level of respect, time and importance, no matter how large or small the job is.
