Q&As

I studied dog training and Psychology when I had a problem with one of my dogs and could not find the help I needed to resolve the problem. I love seeing owners enjoying training their dog or puppy and watching them learn together and build the all important bond. Seeing a naughty dog turn into a well mannered and balanced dog is very rewarding.

When I needed help with my problem dog, I approached and paid many different trainers, who advised in many varied ways how to correct the problem, However , it was all about the dog and how to train it, not one of the trainers looked at ME, how I was handling the problems emotionally and how I interacted with my dog. This I discovered for myself when I started to study for my Diploma in dog psychology, my frustration, moods and body language were all making things worse between us, as soon as I realised and changed the way I reacted and responded to my dog, things began to improve, then I could start to train her. I felt that there was a gap between training and psychology, you had to choose to go to either a trainer or a behaviourist, I therefore decided that I wanted to be able to offer both to my clients.

I am not just a dog trainer, I am a dog psychologist as well, I look at the whole situation around the owner, home , family and the dog. So if you have a problem with your dog misbehaving, I don't just tell you how to correct your dog with training alone , I help you to understand why the dog is doing what he is doing and how to change the circumstances that has caused the behavour.
When I employed trainers to help with my problem dog I was often expected to pay for a 6 week course when I only had one problem with her that could have been resolved in 1 or 2 sessions. I promised myself that I would not force owners to pay out for unnecessary sessions and decided to charge by the hour for as few or as many that are required to sort the training or behavioural problem out. Why charge for 6 when 2 will do it.
