Preparing/reviewing year end accounts i.e. profit & loss, balance sheet cash flow statements, management accounts, reviewing reconciliations of control accounts and reviewing regulatory tax compliance in relation to companies, sole traders and partnership clients Involved in the strategic decision making process i.e. Marketing strategies to expand the gross practice income Conducting staff appraisals and involved in other important improvement in the practice which enhances the internal production systems Ensuring all notes to the financial statements are in compliance with the IFRS, IAS or UK GAAP and Companies House. Preparing and reviewing rental accounts for various estate owners and preparing property annual accounts 2 | P a g e Reviewing sales ledger, purchase ledger, cash book and other control account reconciliations Monitoring PAYE (including RTI) and national insurance contributions, producing various forms i.e. P35, P11, P11d, P60 etc. Computing tax recoverable or payable for sub-contractors using construction industry scheme (CIS). Preparing projected accounts, analytical reports, variance analysis and cash flow forecast for management. Sending iXBRL accounts to HMRC along with CT600 and any changes in shareholdings, directors or secretary (if any) to Companies house. Submitting annual returns AR01, any changes in shareholding, directors or share transference to company’s house, and quarterly VAT returns to HMRC. CORPORATION AND PERSONAL TAX Preparing and reviewing of corporation and personal tax computations using CCH Central. Submitting these returns to HMRC. Providing effective tax planning in order to minimise the overall tax liability. This will include the tax efficient purchases, contributing to pensions, effective loss relief etc. Tax planning and tax implications of the family companies and related planning scenarios i.e. close companies, provision of loans to the shareholders, IR 35 etc. Assisting the partners in tax advisory and planning of personal tax assignments relating to IHT and CGT including their overseas aspects i.e. CGT, IHT, elections of remittance basis, double tax relief etc. ensuring all reliefs and claims must be in a tax effective way. Ensuring that clients meet all tax obligations and pay the tax liability to HMRC. Performing due diligence procedures, and client accepting procedures to ensure the new clients are taken on board legally. Reviewing, computing and planning the tax implications of chargeable disposals, ensuring that they are dealt in tax effective way which reduces the corporation tax liability Managing the payroll system of the client using sage payroll. Computing tax recoverable or payable for sub-contractors in CIS scheme. Recommending the capital investments that attract tax incentives which are more favourable to the client business Corporation tax losses and group corporation tax losses how the group losses are effectively relieved and reduces the corporation tax liability VAT Advising the client on VAT cross border issues i.e. whether to charge UK VAT or not, explaining clients how reverse charge works, place of supply rules under B2B & B2C etc. Preparing/reviewing VAT quarterly returns and payment of the VAT liability (if any) to HMRC. Advising clients which VAT scheme will be beneficial for their business and how to fulfil future VAT compliance Preparing flow chart for the clients who are partially exempt to explain which commodities/services are taxable and which are exempt Advising clients which are partially exempt for the VAT implications
