What makes a great website?
There are so many elements to a great website! From a business perspective, it needs to be affordable, manageable, easy to use and it needs to really showcase who you are and what you do.
From a customer's perspective, it needs to have engaging content, it needs to provide a good user experience so customers are encouraged to browse through your site and buy from you, it needs to have good SEO (search engine optimisation) so customers can actually find you online, and it needs to work across all devices.
These are just the basic elements of a great website. You also need to make sure you have adequate hosting so that your site is fast and reliable. No-one likes to wait for a page to load, so if your website is slow, your customer will leave your site and buy from someone else.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I always like to meet for a coffee and face-to-face chat to discuss a new website, but some of the questions I usually ask are:
-How long have you been in business?
-What sets you apart from your competitors?
-What are your business goals?
-Who is your target market?
-Do you want to be able to sell online directly from your site?
-What is your budget?

What I love most about my job is meeting so many different business owners with completely different business models and areas of expertise. I love learning about what makes them tick, what they want to achieve and helping them turn their business ideas into a reality.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always wanted to run my own business, and redundancy finally gave me the kick to do so.
