What do you love most about your job?
My name is Carole and I am the CEO of NWCS/CX. As well as employing fully qualified counsellors, the service is also a training provision for students in advanced training (Diploma and above). All of the counsellors have acquired their qualifications while on placement here and we work as a great team ensuring that clients receive the best quality service available. Counsellingxtra is a not for profit organisation so we have the added incentive knowing that all profits benefit disadvantaged people in the community and this is the best reason ever, knowing that your daily efforts are benefitting people less fortunate.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I am the founder of the charity and started working in the Nottingham Women's Centre nearly twenty years ago. It became very clear to me at that time that there was a very urgent need for a counselling provision for the women accessing the Nottingham Women's Center.
The charity grew from those small beginnings and we have now moved out of the Women's Centre in order to be able to see male clients and couples as well as females.
