Very disappointed with the outcome of my oven clean. Recently had my oven cleaned for the 1st time (£60) before the clean i had no issues at all, it lit and worked perfectly. After the clean the gas wouldn't light. When I contacted the cleaner I was told it could just be damp from cleaning process and to try lighting it with a match for a few days until it dried out.It still didn't work so the cleaner came back out.At that point it would only light with a match but once he left it stopped working completely and hasn't lit since.When I contacted them again I was told it might now need a gas engineer and that they dont touch gas which wasn't an issue before their clean. I've had no response since. While the person who came was polite I'm very disappointed that my oven is now unusable after paying for a professional clean and there's been no follow up or accountability to resolve the problem. 17/11 Customer follow-up in response to the owner: Thank you for responding but I do need to correct several points as your reply does not reflect what actually happened. 1. My oven was working perfectly before the clean. Your response states that your cleaners notes say the ignition was not lighting before the clean.This is simply not true. My oven lit absolutely fine beforehand -if it hadn't i would not have contacted you afterwards to report it suddenly not working. The ignition issue started immediately after the clean,which is why I reported it. 2. What your cleaner told me after I reported the issue was that the ignition was likely damp due to cleaning process and to light it with a match for a few days until it dried. This clearly indicates the problem began after the clean not before. 3. Second visit- when your cleaner returned the oven only lit with a match while he was present. I did not say I was "positive and satisfied ". I simply appreciated him attending but I was still clearly concerned that the oven was not working properly. 4. What happened afterwards-shortly after he left the oven stopped lighting altogether even with a match.When I messaged again i was told gas was not entering the oven and that a gas safe engineer would be needed and that this was as far as you could assist. 5. Communication- your reply states I was contacted on 02/11 which is incorrect. I received a message on 03/11 which i responded to explaining the ongoing issue. I received no reply after that. I have a full message trail on my phone. 6. Reporting the issue- I did not report the problem the same day because I didn't use the oven until a couple of days after the clean. As soon as I discovered the issue I contacted you and I also informed the cleaner I would be away the following week. Overall, I am extremely disappointed that my oven which was working perfectly before has not worked since the clean- and even more disappointed by the inaccuracies and dishonesty in your response. I have used Chalfont Oven Cleaning for a while and the last couple of visits has been Alex. My range was dirty and just didn’t look nice and Alex made it look brand new. He was here a good couple of hours and so polite and very knowledgeable. The cooker literally looked like new everything was absolutely perfect. He really knows what he’s doing and he was so tidy and just worked really hard. Even though I never asked him to every time he came in he house he removed his shoes.
