At am associates we design engaging, cost effective, ground-breaking packs, which build brands and drive sales, but are kinder to the environment
For nearly twenty years we have designed all types of packaging for clients ranging from multinational mega-brands to high-street retailers and local start-ups.
We understand the power of great packaging and believe that shape, feel and functionality are as important in defining a product as its logo.
We work in all packaging sectors, including food, cosmetics and toiletries, automotive, toys, electronics and FMCG, giving us the experience and confidence to explore boundaries and look for creative solutions within a framework of rigorous practicality, so we are as comfortable designing a reusable transit pack for an electronics product as we are in creating a new fragrance brand.
From the beginning we believed that Less is More and maintain that pursuit of sustainability need not be a barrier either to creativity, effectiveness or profitability.
We recently one a Design Effectiveness Award for our BT Hub 4 Packaging designed to go through a letterbox. The letterbox size has reduced packaging and distribution costs significantly, and now 30% of customers no longer require an engineer visit to install the device.
Eliminating the need for installation CD’s and leaflets and minimalising packaging materials reduces the upstream CO2 emissions related to the production & packaging of the device reducing BT CO2 emissions by 147 tonnes per annum
Environmental assessment of product ranges is a routine part of our work, but we have also undertaken own-brand packaging audits for retailers, such as John Lewis and B&Q to help them establish targets for
reducing their in-house packaging.
In addition to our design consultancy work we lecture on packaging and retailers, such as John Lewis and B&Q to help them establish targets for reducing their in-house packaging.
Our book, "Is it Really Necessary to Shrinkwrap a Cucumber? A guide to designing environmentally friendly packaging", is aimed at helping designers, brand managers and specifiers through the environmental maze, so that they can achieve more sustainable solutions both through their design approach and by making informed
decisions about materials and processes.
