A Dog’s Best Friend Q&A

A Dog’s Best Friend Q&A

What do you love most about your job?

Dog’s are our passion, and therefore it’s the best job in the world for us. We love what we do and do what we love. Also being able to make the relationship between dog and owner a better and stronger one gives us a great sense of satisfaction. All dogs deserve to be happy, safe and loved but there is no behaviour from a dog that the owner should have to put up with and that’s why we want to help.

What inspired you to start your own business?

When we went on holiday one year we had to put our two dogs into kennels, when we got back, our golden retriever had lost his voice (he didn’t normally bark) and our black Labrador had lost so much weight his hip bones were sticking out (he just didn’t eat- not like him). We were so upset when we got them back that we decided that there must be people like us who didn’t want to put their dogs into kennels. The business has grown from there.

Why should our clients choose you?

Studied Canine Psychology, Behaviour Modification (Canine Psychology Centre) and Dog Training and Handling (IMDT) As already stated above we do not use or condone aversives, the training methods we use gives your dog choices and rewards. This done in the right way has fast positive results. We are also able to help if your dog suffers from fear, separation distress or aggression.
Dog walking - We ensure that your dog is walked for the duration you pay for, we make full use of our local countryside so your dog can be off lead (if you allow it), have the freedom to be part of a pack and able to use all their senses. They come back happy and tired. We offer a home from home boarding experience staying in our home (not outside). We are also trained and qualified Pet First Aiders (Fitzcharles Training)
