Jason Williams Photography

‘19 Certificate of Excellence

Hi. My name is Jason and I have been shooting professionally for well over 14 years. I have shot over 300 weddings and countless other events so I bring a wealth of experience - including a first class honours degree in photography - to my work. I offer a highly informed, experienced and professional photography service at very reasonable rates considering my experience and knowledge and, of course, genuine love of photography. I am friendly, down to earth and very flexible. For me it is all about the images and client satisfaction.

What do you love most about your job?

I love photography. Therefore I love my job. But in my experience working for dance culture magazines and being flown all over the world to shoot festivals, shooting corporate events all over Europe, shooting weddings - again, all over the world - and even in the more prosaic, less glamorous gigs, it is just the act of getting out and meeting new people and the places where photography can take you, that really appeals to me. It would appeal to anybody with any human curiosity. Its tough out there, professionally I mean, and particularly these days, but when it goes right - what a job!

What inspired you to start your own business?

Photography. I am not a great businessman. You can pretty much hear tumbleweeds and a slight ghostly wind rolling through my left brain, but in order to do what I love, I need to support myself. And this is why I decided - obviously when you think about it - to start a business.

Why should our clients choose you?

My clients should choose me because they like my work and they like me - period. I never do hard sell or try to bang on about why Im better than anybody else. The internet is already so clogged up with these silly, aggressive tactics that it has got to the point that you don't believe anything you see or hear anymore. So I just chuck the ball to the prospective client and - metaphorically and/or literally - say "Here I am and here's what I do. Hope you like it and we can work together. If not then all the best and good luck!"

Every couple wants their wedding day to be the best day of their life. The job of a wedding photographer is to capture the memories and the emotions of your wedding day, so that you never forget it. Future generations will be able to look back on your wedding photos as a defining moment in history and feel the emotions of your day.

Although there is no requirement to have two photographers for your wedding, it allows more moments to be captured. For example, one photographer can be with the bride whilst she is getting ready whilst the other captures the arrival of the groom and the preparations for the ceremony. Having two photographers means that you’ll get shots that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise, and capture more memories of your special day.

The number of hours of wedding photography that you need depends on how much of your day you want to document, as well as the timing of your day. Most couples choose for the photographer to arrive an hour before the ceremony to capture the final preparations, and then stay until the end of the first dance. 6 to 8 hours of coverage is usually plenty for small to medium sized weddings.
