Lancashire

I offer wedding photography and people and pet portraiture in Lancashire, Merseyside, Cumria, Cheshire and Manchester. Along with weddings and portraits I provide event photography and have worked with the likes of Chesney Hawkes, Derek Acorah, Martin Kemp and Beverley Craven. My shooting method is relaxed, mainly off the cuff, reportage photography aiming to put you at ease, provide a friendly informal atmosphere, thus helping produce natural looking results for you to cherish. I aim to make myself as inconspicuous as possible. The best shots are almost always taken when the subject forgets I'm there. Capturing natural shots helps produce great candid photography. A smile or a laugh looks so much better when it’s real. Whether you choose a short ceremony only package or a full blown wedding photography package covering the whole day, the service and attention to detail is the same. Wedding photography is an opportunity for me to be part of your big day and to help create memories by telling a story of the whole event. Images are provided with no copyright restrictions. They are full resolution images enabling you to order large prints and canvasses and you are free to use them as you please. Supplied on USB storage drive, the images can be copied, emailed, posted on Facebook and shared with friends and family.

What do you love most about your job?

I love the involvement and the huge responsibility of capturing photos that tell the true story of a wedding day or personality in a portrait, whether that be a person or pet.

What inspired you to start your own business?

My love of photography was nurtured in the late 1960's when, as a child, I used a small cupboard in my bedroom as a darkroom. I would spend hours taking photos on roll film and then eagerly awaiting the final results as the images magically appeared on photographic paper before my very eyes. This era was before colour film was affordable to the masses. Photography being a lifelong passion it was a natural progression to eventually become a pro tog.

Why should our clients choose you?

I offer timeless, traditional style photography - your photographs will contain natural colour, contrast and tone - I do not desaturate colours or blow the highlights as is the fad at the moment.

Whether you choose a short ceremony only package or a full blown wedding photography package covering the whole day, the service and attention to detail is the same.

Wedding photography is an opportunity for me to be part of your big day and to help create memories by telling a story of the whole event.

Every couple wants their wedding day to be the best day of their life. The job of a wedding photographer is to capture the memories and the emotions of your wedding day, so that you never forget it. Future generations will be able to look back on your wedding photos as a defining moment in history and feel the emotions of your day.

Although there is no requirement to have two photographers for your wedding, it allows more moments to be captured. For example, one photographer can be with the bride whilst she is getting ready whilst the other captures the arrival of the groom and the preparations for the ceremony. Having two photographers means that you’ll get shots that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise, and capture more memories of your special day.

The number of hours of wedding photography that you need depends on how much of your day you want to document, as well as the timing of your day. Most couples choose for the photographer to arrive an hour before the ceremony to capture the final preparations, and then stay until the end of the first dance. 6 to 8 hours of coverage is usually plenty for small to medium sized weddings.
