The Gilded Lily

‘20 Certificate of Excellence

The Gilded Lily provides all types of floristry from weddings, funerals, gift bouquets. In fact anything incorporating flowers ! My workshop is located on the outskirts of Chorley & many say it is like an Aladdins cave ! I specialise in weddings so have built up a great collection of 'props' over the years to dress wedding venues. The service I provide is personal and detailed, working on an appointment basis I take appointments to suit my clients in evenings and or at weekends including Sunday's which are most popular. Being independent and workshop based my overheads are kept to a minimum which means that clients get the very best service at very keen prices..... Xx If you still havn't organised your wedding flowers do allow me to help .....

What do you love most about your job?

I'm passionate about flowers and I never tire of meeting lovely couples & helping to plan what is the most important event in their lives.

Over the years myself & the small team have made thousands of buttonholes, hundreds of bouquets and displays !

What inspired you to start your own business?

I completed a Masters Degree in Business Administraion back in the mid 1990's whilst working in IT. Floristry was a hobby of mine at that time with friends and family asking me to prepare their wedding flowers .... So I decided to get formal training to learn the correct techniques for wiring, bouquet construction etc & set up the business from a standing start.... The rest is history !

Why should our clients choose you?

Great personal service, super fresh flowers, depth of experience, knowledge of many aspects of wedding planning so a valuable source of advice (do's & dont's, pitfalls to avoid). I'm also a marriage registrar for my own church so know much about the legal aspect of marriages ! Finally cost effective.....due to those reduced overheads.... Why would you not choose The Gilded Lily ?

The average couple spends around £1,000 on wedding flowers. However, many couples spend less whilst others spend more. Whatever your budget, there will be plenty of options available to you. It’s best to contact your preferred florist for a quote as early as possible to talk through the options available for your budget and to secure your date.

If you’re looking to save money on your wedding flowers, there are a few options to choose from. Sunflowers and tulips are ideal options for spring and summer weddings, keeping costs to a minimum whilst still looking great. If you’re having a winter wedding, opt for lillies or chrysanthemums for a burst of colour on a budget.

It’s never too early to book your wedding flowers, especially if you’re hoping to book a specific florist. You should book your wedding flowers at least six months in advance, but for the best chance of securing your favourite florist, you should contact them as soon as you’ve set a date. You’ll then be able to finalise the plans for your flowers closer to your wedding day.
