I am an experienced and dedicated teacher based in Dundee, DD3. As a former organ scholar, I have performed for masses and other church services and also took part in music festivals as a pianist while still a student. Many of my students enter for graded exams on the piano, and all my private students have passed with merit or distinction. I am happy to teach children and adults of any age or experience level (from complete beginners to advanced).
I teach piano and violin to pupils of all ages and stages. My aim is to make lessons fun and enjoyable. In addition if pupils wish to do so, I can present them for ABRSM and Trinity exams as well as school practical instrumental exams.
Piano, violin , viola and music theory teacher. I teach all ages. I prepare pupils for ABRSM examinations.
All pupils, watching their faces when they play their tune well. You can see their enjoyment and sense of achievement.
Violin pupils. When they first use the bow.
I like to be my own boss. To have the flexibility of working hours.
I am friendly and patient.
I have many years experience. ( Over 30 years.)
I have an excellent success rate in passing ABRSM exams.
Where I teach is homely and wellcoming.
Yes I have taught via Skype for many years.
It is difficult with very young children on piano. As they want to look down at their hands when playing.
I have successfully prepared clients for exams over Skype.
After the second lock down, here in Scotland, (April 2021), I was able to invite clients back to my home for lessons. They sat at the piano. I sat 4 metres away at my electronic keyboard.
Currently I am back nearer the piano, about 1.5 metres away. I use my own copy of their music, so I don't need to lean over them. I allow an extra 15 minutes between lessons so there is no crossover of clients.
