What do you love most about your job?

This is hard - as it is all great! We get to meet not only many different people, but many different types and breeds of animals. A particular favourite is having young puppies arrive on their first holiday with us and then return as they grow older. Watching them grow into gorgeous full grown animals is very rewarding.
Our return clients are more like returning family. We receive updates from owners even when their pets are not booking in with us!

What inspired you to start your own business?

Having carried this type of work out for several years for family and friends, a change in employment offered me the opportunity to set up Pet Patrol Club. It is not a full time business, it is part time. We do not clock watch or create a strict handover criteria. There is no constant stream of pets in and out. We ensure we have the time to focus for the duration of our bookings, as well as having time to relax with our own family and pets outside the commitment of the business. We aim to have a perfect work-home balance which is then reflected even more in our work.

Why should our clients choose you?

We can say the obvious: fully insured, experienced, regulated, qualified etc - but that doesnt mean much without being able to provide what the client wants and provide the love and care that the pet needs. Hugs and cuddles goes hand in hand with feeding and fun exercise.
A home from home for our home boarding service or as close to a replica of the existing routine in their own home.

Many people choose to use a pet sitter for the knowledge that their pet is in safe and caring hands. Many pet sitters are happy to regularly communicate with you by sending photos and videos, so you know your pet is being cared for while you’re away. Hiring a pet sitter to look after your pet in your own home also means that you won’t have to transport your pet or worry about them being in a new environment.

The decision between hiring a dog sitter or using kennels is a personal choice and depends largely on your dog’s temperament. Dogs who are prone to being lonely or nervous often prefer to be cared for by a dog sitter in their own home as they enjoy the close and personal contact. If you choose to put your dog in kennels, you’ll also need to ensure that your dog is vaccinated against kennel cough.

The best way to ensure that your pet sitter is reputable and trustworthy is through recommendations from previous customers. When you hire a pet sitter on Bark, you can browse the profiles of local professionals and read genuine reviews from former clients to ensure that you’re choosing the right carer for your pet.
