A healthy diet is absolutely crucial to living a healthy lifestyle. The food we consume influences many processes in our body and if certain nutrients are excludes we will not function. Signs of a poor diet include struggling with weight gain, weight loss, brittle hair and nails, low energy, sore joints and fatigue.
I love being able to understand why people eat the way they do and personalising advice in order to help them long term. When clients come to me they have usually tried multiple diets, supplements, exercises etc. and are at the point of giving up. It is a joy to be able to watch people turn their life around but then also maintain it over the following years.
I wanted to start my own business so I could have more time to help each client. Often, in a clinical setting appointments are short and very to the point. I like to understand my clients motivations and reasons for eating the way they do and that often takes longer than a 20 minute slot! I also love that I can stay in touch with my clients and see them progress further.
I am a registered nutritionist which means I have a degree in nutritional sciences and have been approved by the Association of Nutrition. Now a days, a lot of nutritionists aren't registered which means they do not have any qualification in nutrition and can give out very poor advice.
On top of my education, I also have direct experience of struggling with food that I overcame. I combine my understanding of psychology of food in order to really help clients long term.
