What do you love most about your job?

We love how everyday is different and love making our clients and their pets happy from taking them walks to looking after the younger four legged members of the family.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have always loved animals and dogs especially so after working in offices I decided to start dog walking part time. I loved being outside and seeing all the happy dogs and decided to start my business full time in 2014. That success has grown and we now have a team who love making our clients dogs happy everyday.

Why should our clients choose you?

The Happy Pet Company aims to provide an excellent service through being flexible, reliable and friendly. The dogs we pick up are kept safe when transporting them by using cages in our ventilated vans, the dog walkers have been Disclosure Scotland checked, fully insured and even have pet first aid certificates. We do limit the amount of dogs that we walk at one time to allow us to ensure their safety and give them as much attention as possible.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

No. Our services do require us to attend the home or workplace to visit or collect your dog. Bookings and payments can be made online to reduce contact to a minimum.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

We put safety first and have improved what we do to make sure its as safe as possible for everyone involved.
All staff wear PPE such as facemask, gloves etc when possible.
We won't come into the property unless we have to and we socially distance from everyone.
Payments and bookings can be made online to reduce the contact between clients and staff.

The price of hiring a dog walker will depend on the area of the UK in which you live, with prices typically higher in the South of England and particularly in London. The cost of hiring a dog walker will often be lower in the North of England and in Scotland and Wales.

The most important thing when you’re hiring a dog walker is that both you and your dog trust them. You should also ensure that your dog walker has public liability insurance that covers them in case of damage, accident or loss. The best way to find a reliable and trustworthy dog walker is by reading reviews of previous clients. When you hire a dog walker through Bark, you can browse the profiles of dog walkers in your local area and read honest reviews from genuine customers.

It is recommended that a dog walker should walk a maximum of four dogs at a time, to enable them to maintain good control of each dog. Most dog walkers will give you the option of having your dog walked alone or with other dogs. Walking with other dogs will help your dog to develop valuable social skills. However, if your dog is reactive, you may prefer for them to be walked alone.
