Buddy's Pet Care

Berkshire

Buddy's Pet Care is fully insured, police checked, canine first aid trained and a member of National Association of Registered Pet Sitters. We also hold a Home Boarding Licence with Reading Borough Council. We offer the following services: Dog Walking, Dog Home Boarding, Pet Visits, Pet/House Sitting, Pet Transport and Wedding Dog Chaperone. We do not "Pack Walk", so that we can give your dogs the attention and supervision they require. Because we only walk dogs singularly or in very small groups of 2-3, this allows us to tailor our services to what you and your pet need. Whether it is a lead walk, a woodland adventure, fun in the river or ball throwing in the park - we will establish what is best for you and your dog at a free consultation meeting. Similarly with Home Boarding, we keep the amount of dogs we board at the same time to a minimum to ensure we are able to treat them like one of our own pets. We want them to enjoy their time with us, so that they don't miss their owners too much!

What do you love most about your job?

I think the best part of my job is the look of excitement on each pet's face when I arrive at their house. No matter how bad the weather is or how heavy the traffic, the fact I'm making someone's day more exciting makes up for it!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I worked in Retail Management for over 20 years. Like many people, retail wasn't what I wanted to do, I just fell into it. I always wanted to work with animals but never did anything about it until last year. I love animals and wanted to help them in some capacity. I looked into various roles and was considering training to be an RSPCA Inspector. However, I knew that would be a bad idea as my house would be filled with unwanted and neglected animals and there wouldn't be enough room for me! Also, it is another "Job" and I really wanted to work hard for myself instead of someone else.

So, after working for another dog walker for a year on my days off, I decided to start my own business.

Now, I get to be my own boss, spend my days caring for animals and have more time for me too!

Why should our clients choose you?

I have 2 cats, Max and Mia and a Black Lab called Buddy, they are not just animals, they are family.
So why should you choose me to look after your pets?
Because I treat all my customers pets the way I would want Max, Mia and Buddy to be treated when I go away.
