We got Ruby our second dog during lockdown and it quickly became clear she was a very anxious puppy. As she got older this progressed to her being extremely reactive, particularly around people who got close meaning that she would bark constantly, react aggressively and become very wound up.
This meant that walking her anywhere there were people was almost impossible and even having guests in our home was really difficult. We had already tried one behaviourist but their techniques seemed to be about avoiding the issues and this just meant Ruby still reacted whenever she encountered the trigger situations as it was impossible to completely avoid people at all times.
We had almost given up trying but decided to look for another behaviourist and after some research we came across Adopted Soul and Sophie. Within one session we could tell Sophie took a completely different approach and totally understood Ruby and her issues.
We immediately started to see a difference and slowly but surely we’ve been exposing Ruby to the triggers but with Sophie teaching us the techniques on how to make her less reactive. The difference in a relatively short space of time is amazing and we finally feel confident that we can resolve Ruby’s issues with Sophie’s support.
