Synthmachine are the best 80's synthpop/electronic covers band in the Midlands, playing covers of songs by Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, The Human League, New Order and many more. Between 2002 and 2014, Julienne, Chris and Dom played and performed as rock band, Pencilface. Then, in 2014, feeling disillusioned and tired with the rock covers they had been playing for so long, and heavily influenced by the BBC Synth Britannia television programme, they decided to embark on a brand new project, and Synthmachine was born.
