Hi... I'm Andy, and I'm a wedding videographer andI'm here to tell you that I THOROUGHLY recommend this getting married malarkey. I'm really passionate about making wedding films that really sum up the feel of a couples' special day. I would describe my style as "people focused" documentary with a smattering of cinematic moments..   Every wedding is different and that's what keeps my job exciting. Whether it's a traditional- more formal affair, a festival feel, or even if there's inflatable horse racing and a rodeo bull (oh yes..... it happened) - capturing all of these little choices and moments is a challenge I love and keeps me on my toes- which is not a problem for me as I did have ballet training once (actual fact). Getting to know one another is really important for me to best catch moments you'll love and for a couple- I want them to feel like I'm an extension of the family for the day. Hopefully more 'cool cousin' than 'creepy Uncle'! I've been known to pop the kettle on for 'Mum' and pour the bubbles for the bride and bridesmaids whilst they've been getting ready in the morning.... there are no extra charges for these services. Blending in is also essential for me. It allows me to get those really honest shots, which all help add to the narrative of your film and it allows you to enjoy your special day without a camera lens poking you in the face. I use multiple, industry standard cameras and editing software. There's a drone for some lovely aerial shots of your venue... it also happens to be my favourite toy. I hope you enjoy watching some of my films. If you'd like to know more, get in touch- or visit unionvideo.co.uk where you can download my client pack :) Andy

What do you love most about your job?

Tough question.... there’s a lot to like! I like how I tend to become an extension of the family for the day- particularly when spending time with the bridal party before the ceremony. There’s a balance to being ‘there’ and invisible... making the tea or pouring the prosecco is not something I’d thought I’d be doing while filming- but it’s always good to be helpful!

I also enjoy editing the films- piecing together lots of lovely moments. It takes a lot of time but with a brew, it’s time well spent!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I guess I’ve always been freelance. From finishing uni, all of my work has been on a freelance basis. It’s strange when you feel better for having job security for 3 months!! But working for myself is a real treat- and I like to have a certain work/life balance that works well with my job!

Why should our clients choose you?

Because if they don’t, I’ll take it really personally.

I can’t really say why- people should like the films I’ve made and then decide. I make sure my service is friendly, I’m always accessible, and I’m there for the whole day. None of this ‘8 hours’ nonsense. Wedding films are wonderful things- I want to give you the best keepsake I can.
