‘19 Certificate of Excellence

I'm Mark, a Documentary style Wedding Photographer principally covering Newcastle/Gateshead and the North East of England. My creative and contemporary style puts an exclusive twist on your images. My style is a blend of authentic documentary, with fine art styled details and creative relaxed portraiture. I thrive off the emotions on show during a Wedding, I take honest photographs with life and energy on display. I love photographing people, interacting and capturing real unselfconscious moments. From bridal preparation to tipsy antics at the evening reception, I'll tell the story of your wedding day. I love people and I place great emphasis on capturing the emotions of you and your guests. Aside from a little time to take the more formal group & couple shots, you'll likely not notice me too much on the day. My style of photography is often described as 'candid' or 'documentary'. I'm constantly watching & scanning the venue, looking for smiles, laughter, tears and tender moments. I'll create timeless images of your special day, from start to finish. For most of your day I won’t interrupt you, ask you to pose unnaturally or ask you to do anything just for the sake of the camera. I’ll ensure you stay relaxed and enjoy your day spending quality time with your family and friends – just as it should be. For the majority of people, wedding photography is a once in a lifetime expense. I take the honour of photographing your wedding day very seriously; from your initial enquiry right through to the delivery of your photos, I'll be on hand to ensure everything is impeccable. I’m happy to meet with my couples as many times as is necessary in the run up to your wedding day. I’ll happily visit your wedding venue with you around a couple of weeks before the big day, this is beneficial for the both of us and helps everything to run smoothly. You’ll find that I ask you lots of questions, this is not me being nosey; I love people and I like to be prepared – preparation is crucial to the way I work. My couples book me to tell the story of their day.

What do you love most about your job?

The sheer excitement and natural shots from my clients. I love Weddings & Photographing them gives me great pleasure.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I didn’t get behind a camera until much later in life when I started photographing pretty much anything at college, my favourite being street photography. I'd develop the images in the dark room whilst attending my graphic design course. It turns out that people are a lot more interesting to photograph. After photographing my first wedding, which was an an incredibly daunting yet exciting experience, I fell in love with documenting weddings. I love the emotional roller coaster of every wedding day and feel compelled to tell stories with my images. The camera is just the tool I use to capture what I see and feel on every wedding day – I really do shoot from the heart.

Why should our clients choose you?

For most of your day I won’t interrupt you, ask you to pose unnaturally or ask you to do anything just for the sake of the camera. I’ll ensure you stay relaxed and enjoy your day spending quality time with your family and friends – just as it should be. Aswell as being a fun, easy to get along with, personable photographer.

Every couple wants their wedding day to be the best day of their life. The job of a wedding photographer is to capture the memories and the emotions of your wedding day, so that you never forget it. Future generations will be able to look back on your wedding photos as a defining moment in history and feel the emotions of your day.

Although there is no requirement to have two photographers for your wedding, it allows more moments to be captured. For example, one photographer can be with the bride whilst she is getting ready whilst the other captures the arrival of the groom and the preparations for the ceremony. Having two photographers means that you’ll get shots that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise, and capture more memories of your special day.

The number of hours of wedding photography that you need depends on how much of your day you want to document, as well as the timing of your day. Most couples choose for the photographer to arrive an hour before the ceremony to capture the final preparations, and then stay until the end of the first dance. 6 to 8 hours of coverage is usually plenty for small to medium sized weddings.
