I had part of a disc in my lower back removed last October and was still feeling stiff and sore and not up to speed so I was recommended Gav from a couple of friends. From my first visit to Gav Noble Physiotherapy I was made to feel very welcome by Ben the practice manager and then for my free pre-assessment appt with Laurence who really listened to see how I could be helped. I then had several physio appts with Gav who worked a lot on my back leaving me feeling in pretty good condition after each session. I am now back to walking several miles and feeling so much better, keeping up with exercises Gav gave me and off all the pain meds! They are a great team and I would thoroughly recommend them. Keep up the good work guys!

I love Jennifer’s yoga classes,I just wish I could get more! She has a wealth of knowledge across many disciplines such as massage and meditation and aromatherapy which she brings into her classes to help address any issues or queries pupils have in a really holistic way. She always brings in new practises and ideas which keep them fresh and engaging and I always leave feeling so much better! I love how she plans events to matches the rhythms of the seasons such as solistice yoga sessions which are always special experiences. She has a lovely calm and gentle way which really puts you at ease, I’d really recommend!

My daughter bought me a voucher for a hot stone massage for my birthday and I am only getting to use it now. Sorry I waited so long! Natalia started with my legs, feet and ankles, then done my back, neck, shoulders and head before flipping me over to work on my feet and legs again. Totally relaxing and Natalia's hands were so skilful leaving me relaxed and tension free. Will definitely be back!

Nuala is a fantastic therapist, a warm welcoming and calming personality, but also very skilled. Her massages are brilliant, and the acupuncture really helped me to relax and sleep better during a time when I was feeling particularly stressed. Can’t wait to get back for more treatment and looking forward to visiting the new premises!

I found Steven at Fit for Life extremely knowledgeable and proactive when treating my injury. My injury was pinpointed quickly, a treatment plan developed and following my sessions at the clinic I was provided with a number of exercises to continue my rehabilitation in my own time and Steven was always happy to offer advice and support during this process. The service throughout was excellent and I would highly recommend Fit For Life Physiotherapy!

Everything from my toes to my glutes and my head and my hands was massaged to within an inch of my life! I am a floppy relaxed bag of bones today. The studio is soothing and Hana was so caring and welcoming. Highly highly recommend. Please do this for yourself or someone you love!!!

What types of massages does a Massage Therapist offer?
Swedish massage - This is a gentle type of full body massage that is ideal for people who have a lot of tension, are sensitive touch and are new to massage. It can help to release muscle knots and is a good choice if you want to fully relax during your treatment.
Hot stone massage - Hot stone massage is best for people who have muscle pain and tension or who simply want to relax. The massage therapist uses heated stones in lieu of or in addition to their hands.
Aromatherapy massage - Aromatherapy massages are best for people who want to have an emotional healing component to their massage. Aromatherapy massages combine soft, gentle pressure with the use of essential oils. Essential oils are diluted before being applied to the skin.
Deep tissue massage - Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a Swedish massage. It is a good option if you have chronic muscle problems such as soreness, injury or imbalance.
Sports massage - Sports massage is a good option if you have a repetitive use injury to a muscle such as what you may get from playing a sport. It’s also a good option if you are prone to injuries because it can be used to help prevent sports injuries.
Trigger point massage - Trigger point massages are best suited for people who have injuries, chronic pain, a specific issue or condition. Sometimes areas of tightness in the muscle tissues, known as trigger points can cause pain in other parts of the body. By focusing on relieving trigger points, this type of massage can reduce pain.
Reflexology - Reflexology is a great option for people who are looking to relax or restore their natural energy levels. It is also a good option if you aren’t comfortable being touched on your entire body. Reflexology uses gentle to firm pressure on different pressure points of feet, hands or ears.
Shiatsu massage - Shiatsu massage is best for people who want to feel relaxed and relieve stress, pain and tension.
Thai massage - Thai massage is best for people who want a more active form of massage and want to reduce and relieve pain and stress.
Prenatal massage - Prenatal massage can be a safe way for women to get a massage during pregnancy. It can help reduce pregnancy body aches, reduce stress and ease muscle tension.
Couple’s massage - A couple’s massage is a massage that you do with your partner, friend or family member in the same room. Other treatments such as pedicures, facials, and body scrubs are sometimes offered as part of a package.
Chair massage - A chair massage is best for people who want a quick massage that focuses on your neck, shoulders and back. A chair massage can also be a way to introduce you to massage if you have never had one before. This type of massage uses light to medium pressure.
What should I consider before deciding on my massage therapist?
There are a number of factors that are worth considering before choosing your masseuse.
Choice – It is important to consider why you want a massage. Do you want to find relief from chronic pain or are you just looking for a way to relax? Deciding why you want to get a massage will help you narrow down your options and find the right massage therapist.
Comfort- Getting a massage is a great way to relax both physically and mentally. It is easier to take advantage of this benefit when you feel totally comfortable. That is why you should find a massage therapist that makes you feel comfortable and at ease.
Recommendations – You are likely to have at least one friend or family member that has visited a professional massage therapist and read their reviews on Bark.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local massage therapists listed will give you a relaxing and therapeutic massage.
How do I check the Massage Therapists’ credentials?
You could look for massage therapists with a Level 3 Diploma in Massage or Complementary Therapies. The Council for Soft Tissue Therapies (GCMT) is the governing body for massage therapy and recommends that all massage therapists have taken a full or part-time course.
Before you choose a massage therapist, you could read testimonials and read details of their services on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read massage reviews from past customers too. This might also help you get some ideas for the type of massage you want to book.
