Once we receive your enquiry we will always start by having an initial chat with you to understand a little more about your project, budget and what it is you are hoping to receive from your designer. The first chat we have is always so exciting! For us, it is wonderful to hear all of the exciting plans that our clients have. And for you, it can really feel like the first step to making your dreams a reality!
If we are booking a full design package, an initial on-site meeting will be arranged to understand your project in more detail and to compose the most accurate proposal for your project. Following our meeting we will issue a proposal containing a breakdown of what we agree to be necessary to complete your project, along with a detailed listing of the process for your package and the documentation you will receive. I will confirm the price for your package at this point, and issue the welcome questionnaire and contract.
Once the brief is confirmed and we have everything in place, we will be able to get started working on your designs! This is one of the best parts, as we will start to get an idea of how your ideas will come to life. At this phase, we will have an official design meeting to refine ideas for each room and space, and get working on your concepts. The design concepts include vision boards, fabrics, product mood boards and example colour schemes along with furniture layouts to start refining your schemes. You can have as much or as little input as you like here because the most important thing is that you enjoy this process!
For small projects the concept phase can take between 3-6 weeks to prepare. Larger project concepts can take anywhere between 1-3 months to prepare.
If we are working on multiple phases of your project together this is the time that we would review the initial concept designs, and make plans for the next phase. This could be getting approvals from your architect or builders, looking for tenders, or narrowing down layout options and completing detailed designs ready for the build phase.
If we have a concept only package booked, we will review the designs together and make some revisions if necessary. When you are happy with your final designs, you will be able to take away your design package and implement this in your own time!
