I create interior designs with flair and originality. You may need your holiday home refurbished and furnished to wow your clients. You might want someone to help you with a room that you just can't seem to get right or design your whole home to make it into a sanctuary. No job is too small, and I take pride in helping you to achieve the space that you want on a budget, if that is what you want, or sourcing from the best high end items if that alternatively is what you would like. I collaborate with you either face to face or online to create a design that fits your way of living. On a personal level, I am experienced, trustworthy, passionate and love what I do! I am fair and kind and work well to deadlines - I deliver what I promise and try my best to over-deliver. Chat to me and see if we are right for each other :-)
I always start with a phone call to chat about what your project and to allow you to ask questions. If you would like to take things further we meet to discuss your plans in detail and for me to assess our starting point.
Alternatively if we are going to work remotely we start with a phone chat and then if you would like to hire me the process starts with a video call.
For residential interior design I then prepare a quote and if that is acceptable I send you a questionnaire which asks for pics of the room(s), measurements and establishes the style that you are looking for.
In either case I will a deposit at the start of the project, when you accept my quote.
Next I will create detailed design scheme boards. These design boards present the colours, furnishings, furniture and accessories that I recommend, with samples and swatches. You will also receive 3D visualisations of your room (s).
For Home Styling to sell, I visit your property and spend 2-3 hours looking round and discussing with you what I recommend that you do to attract buyers. This consultation is followed up by a written prioritised action plan for you to follow if you are going to do things yourself. I can also provide a complete service for you. See my website for details.
I also offer the following other services:
Probate property preparation for sale
Holiday let and Airbnb design and installation
Show home staging
Decluttering and organisation
Please take a look at my website for details.
I can design to any style but in my soul I love cosy, calm, leafy, bright interiors which incorporate lots of texture, natural materials and gentle colour. Not completely neutral and minimalist, but gentle feel good interiors that make you smile. A little hygge :-) Contemporary, Eclectic, Scandi, Biophylic, Rustic and Farmhouse. But I am excited by all the other styles too!
I love best that I can bring pleasure to people! It makes me happy to be designing, to be using my experience as a psychologist and teacher (previous careers) and my experience of eight house renovations to bring new life to properties. Even designing for one room is a joy!
I have always been a self employed therapist as well as being a teacher so it is second nature to me to run my own business. When I decided to have a career change I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I did an Interior Design and Home Styling Qualification. The rest is history. I love it.
I am a bit different in that I have lots of experience in many walks of life. As a psychologist I understand what makes people happy (isn't that why we want lovely interiors?). I know what homebuyers look for and I understand what they need to see in order for them to fall in love with a property. As a potter and embroiderer I understand creative and artistic rules and how aesthetics work. Being an interior designer is the culmination of all my life experience, and I love passing my knowledge and skill on to others.
Yes I can provide many of my design services online. I can work from your photographs and a video walkthrough/Whatsapp call to provide 3D floorplans and design scheme boards (mood boards which have specific suggestions for colours, furnishings etc) and swatches and samples. My service also includes a programme of works so that you can project manage your own project and a shopping list of items with prices and retailers.
I was completing my training/qualification all through COVID and now I wear a mask if people would like to. I always carry hand sanitizer and would never visit a client if I felt unwell. I do a LFT before every meeting.
