I used to have a regular 9-5 job. A job that paid the bills. A job that I was good at, but there was something missing. It dawned on me that I had to step outside of my comfort zone of working for big corporations to realise that I wanted a quality life. The money that paid my bills was no longer important. I decided at that moment to move to the UK to begin my very special journey into my career as a carer. To be honest, in the beginning, I felt like a fish out of water but I persisted and with the right attitude and determination, everything fell into place. Looking back over the past 7 years I have found I love being a part of something larger, that makes a difference. I love that everyone cares and that you have flexibility when needed. Every day is different, and I get to interact with such a varied group of people. It means I am always learning, no day is the same, It challenges me every day in different ways. I have worked with a number of agencies over the years, and noticed without carers, the care industry would cease to exist. However I have found that there is a gap in the market for carers that actually have a clear understanding of working effectively with the elderly. Especially those that have been through the great depression, two world wars and now recently the coronavirus pandemic. The UK has a multitude of elderly people from all cultures and religions. To be a carer and perform your job well, one would need to understand the client's history and background. I believe there are carers out there that think and feel the way I do. I decided to start my own agency based on these beliefs, and join forces with those carers that want and need an agency where they could make a difference in your or your loved ones life.
I would say that because I am so passionate about my career, I align myself with passionate people. Like-minded. People that have integrity, values, morals, kindness.
