What do you love most about your job?

I love that every day is different and no two jobs are every the same. Whatever the elements I'm keen to get stuck in and provide the best service I can. I absolutely love my job, it's all I've ever done since leaving school and it gives me the opportunity to meet so many different people from all walks of life. The fact that I also get to see the satisfaction on my customers faces when each job is complete makes me proud and gives me great pleasure.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Claymill Fencing was very recently established following the birth of my second child. My little girl and now little boy both being my inspiration for biting the bullet and starting my own business. After working for others for over 15 years I finally felt the time was right to push on; if having two beautiful children to provide for isn't enough motivation to succeed then I don't know what is! We only moved to Waterlooville from Surrey in Jan 2018 so the area is still relatively new to me. I'm used to working around Reading, Ascot, Guildford and even London so I'm now trying to build my new business and establish new clients closer to home.

Why should our clients choose you?

Having worked in the Fencing trade for over 15 years I have vast experience and accreditations including a Fencing NVQ which is rare to find these days. I've honed my skills on the job and I have to say not in an arrogant way but I'm extremely good at what I do. I could never see myself doing anything else because I love it too much. I've contracted to various companies over the last few years and worked on everything from new build houses to schools and your standard garden. I have frequently been requested to work on various sites by site managers because they've been so impressed with my workmanship and quality of fencing. I am tidy, reliable, friendly, honest and enthusiastic but most importantly I'm proud of the work I produce.

Aside from building a wall, the strongest and most durable type of fence is vinyl. Vinyl fencing can last for over 30 years, without any maintenance being required. Vinyl fencing remains strong and robust whilst wooden fencing may begin to warp, shrink or rot over time. Vinyl is resistant to rain, snow and temperature changes, making it one of the most durable types of fencing available.

Automatic electric gates are a great way to improve the security of your house whilst increasing its curb appeal. A house which is equipped with electric gates is statistically less likely to be broken into than a house without gates. Installing an electric gate will also give you peace of mind if you have children or pets, as the gates will keep them contained within your property.

There are many pros and cons of wooden and vinyl fencing that need to be weighed up before making your decision. Vinyl fencing is much more durable and long lasting than wood and requires virtually no maintenance throughout its lifespan. However, vinyl fencing is also more expensive than wood and is more difficult to paint if you want to change its colour.
