One of my families previous members was Ben. He was quite a confused boy when he arrive with us from rescue and my search for someone to help who used up to date methods was fruitless. So I decided to start studying animal training and behaviour so I was able to both understand his needs and help him to a more settled and happy life. Ben was a great teacher and will never be forgotten. This lead to a passion to help others to learn the methods to help their companions to understand and live in our everyday world.
As a animal trainer and working with behaviour I believe it is our duty to keep up to date with the methods used to help the clients that come to us for help. Science has made huge leaps in the past decade when it comes to understanding how animals learn and act. When the trainer and/or behaviourist is up to date with this information there is no need for forceful methods to be employed. Every year I attend many different seminars and work shops for both basic training and behaviour. All these insights allow me to pass the information to owners to help them understand their four legged companions to create a trusting bond between all.
