I came across James as a photographer, whose photographs I would love, back in 2006. My daughter was playing the part of Titania in the Tring Park School production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. On arriving on opening night, I stood gazing at the beautiful poster of a delicate girl (fairy), lying asleep with her soft white dress, wings and tiara underneath the wording of “The course of true love, never did run smooth”. It took some time before I was to realise that the photograph that had an extraordinarily ethereal quality was actually of my daughter! The photographs from the entire production were stunning and beautifully captured. There were no posed photographs they were all natural and true images, organically taken, reflecting the drama and joy of the cast in the play. Unsurprisingly I requested a copy of the poster which, to this day, has hung in every office I have ever worked in! I also requested copies of the photographs and gifted my daughter a book made up of all them – it was impossible to choose favourites! I have kept in touch with Gentle Visions Photography since then and have little doubt that when ‘Titania’ eventually marries – she will have no hesitation in who she chooses to be her wedding photographer!
